New Middlesbrough Memories book from Dr Tosh Warwick showing previously unseen photos of Middlesbrough in the 70s and 1980s and exploring memories of the town in these decades.
- many capture now lost views and buildings and spark off memories of those times - of course with it being from Tosh there is Boro stuff too drawn from two troubled decades at Ayresome Park.
Many of the photos were supplied from the picture archives of John Severs.
The book features over 100 images of seventies and eighties Middlesbrough, Cargo Fleet and South Bank.
I think it looks really great and a MUST see for many on this forum - Tosh is developing this as an educational resource as well.
Please do read the brief info and explore some photos of 70s/80s Middlesbrough and how you can preorder - click MEMORIES

The pic of the mother and child shopping reminds me of the statue of the old gentleman gardener wiping his brow with a smile.
Not sure when he was ‘retired‘ but many years later I was undertaking an inspection in the council grounds of Stewart Park which wasn’t open to the public and was essentially a storage area , and there he was leaning against a wall in the open air . It’s now the courtyard area with the cafe .
Wonder where he is now ?

Now then, I am hoping to get it into the shops very soon once we have the print versions and we hope to have the ebook live in the next week or so!

I am trying to get in shopping centres too for a Berniesque appearance and will let you know how I get on.
