New board anti climax???

I dont have an ad blocker and they do not stop my enjoyment of the site at all.
This site is 100 times better than the old one especially on a mobile.

This board is really good but I think everybody is on a strange kind of best behaviour, as if nobody wants to spoil it with a bad argument!

It will settle down.
 
I’m viewing on an iPhone through safari and the ads are barely noticeable. I’ve no ad-blocker running (that I’m aware of) but the ads I do see are far less intrusive than on the old site (y)
 
It's a massive upgrade over the old board.

To stand still is to fall behind. And the old board was stuck in 1990s.

Well done to all involved in implementing this new version.
 
I'm amazed I got through 'selection'. A great improvement for my wheezing S6. The ads also seemed pretty contained ....

Ad warning - I do need to still make sure they are performing OK. I do need to bring in revenue but in no way want the ads to be in the way

Did a search on the board for avatar help. Got to this from Artie Fufkin:

"Click on your profile and select the picture, it should then say edit avatar. Took me a little while to suss it out "

One of the biggest reasons that people use ad blockers for this site is because those on the legacy site were terible and interferred significantly with the use of the board. Frankly it was self inflicted.

That said - the adverts on here are totally unobtrusive and I've whitelisted the site from my ad blocker. Think you've done a great job in that regard.

I would suggest that you politely ask users to consider whitelisting the site so as to avoid the risk of the website losing significant revenue. You can even use online tools that automatically do this for you when they see that users are accessing utilising an ad blocker.

Only the biggest @rseholes would refuse a polite request with the ads that you have currently.
 
Using Chrome on my mobile and I have no issues with any ads here. Certainly nothing as obtrusive as the banner ads on the old site. This place seems great (y)
 
I love the new board. I've always said I'd love for us to have a board similar to Sunderlands' readytogo, and this isn't too far off it.

The only thing I slightly miss about the other board is being able to see the topic originator for each thread very clearly. I'm finding on here you have to identify whoever has started a thread by their avatar, but I'm getting used to it now.
