Neil Warnock........is he worth another season ? At this rate he is finding it hard to find the targets he wants. Could the pressure get to him and and he leaves? If we went up I could see him staying.

Good post 👍I think he would stay if we went up although every team is finding it hard to get their targets. The club's with parachute payments have a massive recruitment advantage...

I don't think he'll walk regardless this year, I think he respects Gibbo and the fans far to much to do that, if things get seriously bad like we became relegation fodder maybe. But I dare say he won't be staying regardless of where we're at next year, probably off upstairs on the board

No, he has had a brilliant career and was great for us last season, but football is moving on from that playing style and we need to as well. No point in completely changing our transfer strategy to bring in young players from abroad, to stick them in a side playing hoof ball to a big striker. Would love to see us move for Critchley but I have a feeling they will have a great season and some top clubs will be in for him in the summer

We have brought in more players than anyone else (bar Peterborough). The lack of backing isn't an issue.

We have all the problems that everyone else has post covid. I wonder if the 'targets' have been unrealistic? The stalling point seems to be wages. That's more down to players and agents rather than a failure of the club.

That said I don't think we've remotely addresses any of last seasons issues. The same issues we've had for 5 years. We don't score enough goals.

Clubs that have spent a fraction of what we have consistently score more. It's not just about throwing money about.

I think we've got the best manager for the current situation and financial climate. You can't knock genuine experience. I'd be more worried if we had a new 'next big thing' manager who'd probably want 30-50mil to spend and not work with what he's got.

Sensible post that, I agree with all of it 👍

Agree with most of that.

However I think we've had to bring in more players than others because the squad was so thin. It still is. And it was a problem last year.

Good in a way, because it means we've finally cleared out most of the expensive deadwood. But as we're seeing, signing players isn't easy and there's no point adding bodies for the sake of it, needs to be quality as well as quantity.

Still at least 3 players short for me. And to be serious about finishing top 6, at least 2 of those need to improve us, not just be good cover.

Worth another season?-not even worth another week☹️👎
You must be on a wind up !!!!! He saved us from relegation and then consolidated last season without spending any money, we weren't too far off the play offs....
Who are you suggesting we replace him with who would do a better job ¿???????????????

Good post this.
Varied views from different posters and I (in my opinion) see good points in them all.

I can't see WARNOCK being here next season, because I don't think we will go up (and I hope I'm wrong) I think the players we have brought in have not improved us as an outfit, (again I hope I'm wrong). We don't even know what PEYERO brings to the table yet. As FESTA 5 said, " We need better players in not just cover players".

I don't think WARNOCK would be here now, had the appointment of KIERAN SCOTT happened at the back end of last season, I don't think he likes the idea of working under someone else, he was asked to do a job for us and in my opinion has done it well.

As for who comes in next the sound of CRITCHLEY has a nice ring to it similar to when JOHN NEAL arrived.

Here's to a good season. Up the Boro!
