Neil Warnock surpasses all my Expectations

Honestly folks.
Given our state on his arrival
I thought, he’ll keep us up.
Well done but no frills really. Then after a short pre season we look completely different, organised, strong (mentality wise & physically) confident and calm.
Wow.
I know we’re 7th but everyone must agree Neil Warnock and his two lieutenants have utterly transformed us.
I’m frankly quite gobsmacked at how good and experienced Neil Warnock is.
I didn’t realise how intelligent he is as a person, tactical wise & man management.

I really feel we are gonna do great things this season. UTB 👍👍👍👍👍😀

Yep. he's brilliant and has given us something that we've been missing for a long time. Was over the moon when he joined us last season and hoped he'd stay after he kept us up.

Agree

I know it couldn't get any worse than the tripe served up by Pulis & Woodgate, and I knew Warnock would improve us, but not to the extent of what he's done inside 5/6 months.

Our best manager by an absolute country mile since we parted ways with Karanka.

woodgate laid the foundations.... warnocks just come in and grabbed the glory

but seriously, as an outsider, its incredible what organisation, man management, positivity & presumably hard work can achieve. wish I'd realised that 30 years ago!

I don't think it would be controversial to say Warnock is currently a better manager than Karanka.

But Warnock has been a manager for 40 years, Karanka for 6.
It'll be a long time before they can be directly comparable.

His man management is incredible, can't think of anyway who comes close. I love his use of hyperbole:

"best midfielder in the league"
"playing like Beckenbauer"
"best footballing team I've ever had etc"

From someone else it would come across as a bit fake or ridiculous, but he says it with a twinkle in his eye and although you know he's exaggerating, you still feel he means it. Can see it just gives players a massive boost and as a result they work their nuts off for him.

Tactically he's obviously good, nothing spectacular but he knows what he's doing. There's a lot to be said for keeping things simple anyway.

But his motivational qualities are brilliant. You can't learn that.

giving the lads a pre-match boll*cking last night too!

and getting that response. potential banana skin

isn't it nice to have an experienced manager in charge though, breath of fresh air
The transformation is truly amazing, from a team that was championship cannon fodder under Woodgate to a team that other teams don't like playing, if we can bring in a striker or two in January we could walk this league.

Festa ; brilliant post. couldn't have put it better myself and sums up what we have in Neil Warnock.

Jeez ; i'm just genuinely surprised. I really wasn't aware how good he is in every department. The main reason he hasn't gotten a top job (like an Everton or Arsenal etc..that ilk) i think is Neil's biggest forte is turning a player struggling into a top championship player or premiership type player. The top jobs don't need that ; you have top players already.

I'm just so excited.
Ive just listened to his BBC Tees interview after the game last night and he is fantastic to listen too. The players must absolutely love him. He has this twinkle of fun, yet serious side but seems to me he doesn't hold grudges ; once a mistake is aired ; its gone and forgotten ; people love that & respond in kind.

Biggest problem? How do we replace him when he decides he’s had enough? Hope that isn’t a decision needed to be made in the next year or two!

I think its actually worth pointing out the similarities between AK and Warnock; both took over a team that shipped goals at wrong end of the table and tightened up the defence dramatically.

Both arguably had a similarly talented team both struggled to score goals. The biggest difference though is that Warnocks man-management seems infinitely better and I also think he'll work out the goal scoring problem too.

Given the huge improvement I wouldn't bet against Warnock surpassing AK's achievements here.

I hope that all of his fantastic work is rewarded at the end of the season.
I read somewhere that we have the second best defensive record in championship history (after 13 games - fair enough).

Add a couple of players and this team is really going places (y)

:( I know. This lurks at the back of my mind. We need to send a delegation to see Sharon. Shower her with flowers, gifts, Parmo's, photos of the cleveland hills, transporter bridge, Great Ayton do great ice creams, Roseberry topping (when the kids are at school) and just get down on bended knees and beg her to let her hubby carry on as long as possible.

Seriously, I think, if he makes the playoffs and just loses out he'll stay another season (at least) to have another crack or if its automatic this season then I think he'll stay because they (his team and him) will want another crack at the premiership ; especially since its not the dominance of the top 4-5 teams that it was the last time he took a team there. I really think he'll fancy his chances of his highest finish in the top flight.
Then ; who knows ?
Go out on a high of his highest ever top flight finish or tempted to go for Europe in a 2nd season !!! ? (i'm such a dreamer; but if SMAC can do it so can Neil)

If we dont make the playoffs (i'll be shocked!) and just miss out ; which is possible ; then i'd imagine he would go and get assurances from Gibbo on money for what he needs to go that extra step and still stay on.

Jonny ; yes ; man-management is the difference between the two. And the way he has improved players in such a short space of time. Look at Bola and Diksteel !!! Jeez ; look great players.

Total hypocrite😂

We were fourth at this stage under Pulis having scored 4 goals more, and you wanted him sacked.

“It couldn’t get any worse under Pulis” we finished 7th in his last season, which is where we are now😂😂😂
