Neil Maddison: "you`ve got to grow some balls!"

His message just now on Tees to the players.
Well said.
Lets hope at least one of them is listening:mad:(y)

Good on him, he is right. A manager can only do so much In the current plight. He has 2 days and bang, another game. We have 5 battles left. The players need to care, not enough do. Once they cross the line they have to fight for the points. At this moment, there are players that don’t seem to want the ball and one or two players that are trying too hard to do it on their own.

I still don’t think we will be relegated, but we can’t rely on Wigan to save us

If certain players don't care of drop them regardless of talent and get the youngsters in. Players like Walker, Wood, O'Neill, Burrell and Hackney.

It's nothing to lose time.

Warnock has seen it all before. I am not saying he knows what to do at present but he will be building up a picture.

He has said publicly about not having any full backs.

He has Players who can do a job in wing backs though. It’s not an excuse for today, I’m sorry but it isn’t.

The issues with Middlesbrough football club go far deeper than team selection in one match.
Neil Warnock has been presented with a tool box full of blunt chisels, files without handles, cross-cut saws without teeth, rusty spanners, blunt bradalls and a jam jar full of old rubber washers and bent nails.
How the hell he is going to salvage a sinking ship with that collection of "tools" [literally] is beyond comprehension.

I don't think it's so much the effort of the players, i didn;t see any more effort from QPR today, winning 2nd balls etc, the chemistry in their side just looked better than ours, and they didn't panic and change their game plan, far too many times today we just surrendered possesion and give the ball away easily trying to force it, we just don't have any real chemistry in the team, no leadership, and i think this can be seen , incorrectly in my eyes, as a lack of effort

I like that Roofie very descriptive . 😉

McNair—Moukoudi—Fry—Shotton
are they all of our proper defenders?

then we have our midfielders as fullbacks:
RB: Howson
LB: Saville

then our wing backs
RWB: Spence
LWB: Coulson

should be enough to get us over the line.. right?

But you don't call up "football's Red Adair" when everything is going well and hand him a tool box full of appropriate implements with honed cutting edges.
He gets what you describe and uses them to hammer some round pegs into square holes to limp over the line.

I predicted Warnock would get 11 points based on his lifetime record compared to 9 from Woodgate based on this season.
Not seen anything from the first three games that makes me think he won't achieve that.

Red Adair or not:-
its poor leadership when the Captain waits to send out an S.O.S after his vessel is already below the waterline.
At the first hit - the Captain should be aware of the damage and rectify it as soon as possible.
In Boro`s case the Captain has felt water lapping his shoes before he decided it had gone too far to make an effective repair.

Neil Warnock has been given a lifeboat to save an entire ships crew.
Its not possible and we are watching the results every time we get out on the grass.

Give over.

He took over & we were outside the relegation places, 3 points off 17th and had 8 games to go.
Even now we've dropped into the bottom 3, we are still just 3 points off 18th.

People are reacting as though we have to win every game but everyone around us is just as bad as we are & has spent the season winning 1 & losing 2 etc.

Over the next 5 games we need 1 point more than Hull get & can afford to pick up 3 less than Barnsely & 4 less than Luton.

If we can't do it we deserve to go down as there are a load of bad teams at the bottom.

Perhaps you might benefit from looking at the big picture and not place the plight of our club at the feet of Neil Warnock!
We`ve been on the slide since Southgate and experienced temporary relief and relative success with Aitor Karanka.

We have employed Managers and enabled them to chuck money at bang average players, and written extortionate contracts to those who havent the balls or the skill to perform consistently.

"There are a load of bad teams at the bottom" - I agree, we are one of them.

Putting things in perspective: we couldnt win a raffle - and during this year, long before defeats by Luton and Barnsley, the alarm bells were ringing, but our Chairman did not take the opportunity at the time to strengthen the Management Team or change it.

Its obvious that what we have is older players on big contracts - likely to leave.
We have pub players like Johnson.
Then we have the kids - who do their best, but lack maturity and experience.
Additionally we have the in-loan mercenaries who will be off.

If we stay in this league [and it is "if" at the moment], we cant rely on that unbalanced ramshackle group of disparate individuals to gel as a team and challenge for promotion next season.

I, like others, wish it was a simple case of mathematics - but we have to be pragmatic and realistic.

We havent fallen this far in a few weeks - its been coming over a decade and we need to provide positive support and solutions going forward.

We all love our Boro - there is NO other club like ours.
We have to believe, but we dont have to agree.

eh? I'm not blaming Warnock, I didn't think he was messiah before he arrived & still don't, but I'm still fairly confident we'll stay up. Looking at our run in, we've got a decent chance and a better one than with Woodgate at the helm.

But Warnock doesn't have a magic wand, he can't make bad players good overnight or instill confidence that has been eroded over a season,

One thing I have been surprised about is how the defence have changed and how the shape of the team has changed in the three games we've played so far. I thought he'd pick his defence & would just keep them together.

We`ve been on the slide since Southgate
Arguably the last season under McClaren was the start of the slide & the UEFA Cup run allowed a gloss to be put on it, without which & England calling, I think he might have been sacked.

"There are a load of bad teams at the bottom" - I agree, we are one of them.
Wasn't saying we weren't, we just have to be 4th worst & I reckon we have a decent chance of that or better.

We seem to be singing off the same song sheet.
