Maybe these things take ages but because we’re Boro supporters we look at what we do and don’t notice how long it takes others. Thomas Frank was set for Tottenham for about a week. There was no other candidates for that job. Leicester still haven’t decided on Van Nistelrooy. Last summer lots of people took the p*ss out of Sunderland for taking ages to find a manager. Hull have just taken about three weeks to replace Selles. West Brom took the same to appoint Mason.

Not everything Boro does is bad. Not everything has to be negative. It took us a day to appoint Wilder as well didn’t it? Or do we ignore that.

I’m definitely not a negative Nelly normally but no matter how many ways I look at it I just can’t get optimistic about this coming season yet. Edwards is not someone I dislike but it just doesn’t excite me either. At all.

Which may not be a bad thing as my expectations will be very low. As it stands, I’d be very happy with top 10 again.
