The thing is it will happen whether people want it or not and that may be enough to send some people into protests and clashes with police.

Unfortunately, this leadership won't walk until the transition period is over. So in the meantime we'll just have to continue making a mess of Covid until the Brexit mess is finished once and for all.That's a very good point, and a crucially important one too.
