Nathaniel Mendez-Laing

You not a fan of Morsy?

Hall was a pre agreed signing.
Thats a good point, i do like Morsy, decent enough season. I just dont think him, Saville and Howson worked as a unit. There we go, if Hall was pre agreed, Warnock still only has two signings that really worked. When he first came he played to our strengths. Last season he didnt and it was jobs for the boys in Bolasie and M-L. Dont forget Tav wasnt starting regular until he had to. I was never Britts biggest fan but what were we expecting from him last year ? Lone striker wasnt somethig he could do and Akpom did it even worse. Concern is hes assembling a work horse team atthe expense of talent alrrady within the club that should be nurtured this year i.e Coulson, Spence, Wing. This year is a free ride, ive got no expectation of challenging so why not let those players mentioned stake a claim

So a player who rejected us to find a contract elsewhere. Found how difficult this was and suddenly he appears to be interested in us again allegedly? We don’t need players like this at the club in my opinion.

While I do question his commitment I don't blame him for looking elsewhere maybe he wanted to get closer to home who knows.

I'm a little concerned about this whole getting the Cardiff gang back together. I mean they are not the players they were 4 years ago.

I know he knows them inside and out but hardly 'longterm' who we can improve and make a profit on.

NML / Harris / Hoilett and Bamba. I'm not fussed about any of them. I'd take Morrison for his setplay goals.... Then again he'd cost.

I’m afraid that despite official noises to the contrary, this will be a season of us treading water. Short term deals to see Warnock’s final season out without long term baggage, I don’t think we can afford better investment

Being reported that there’s a good chance he could resign for us before the start of the season.

I thought he did OK last season despite having no form or fitness when we signed him. You have to question his attitude though after he was offered a chance to train with us pre-season and he turned it down. Guess we don’t know the reasons, but you’d think he would have jumped at the chance after being banned.

Had no form or fitness when he left never mind when he started. Did he ever play 90 minutes, I would hazard a guess not.

Hall would be a starter for me in current team but lets be realistic he would not have been a starter in most of the CB pairings of the last 30 years or so.

I like Watmore and Morsey and Hall is ok.
Bit non plussed with Fisher and the loan signings were under whelming including even Bolasie overall.
Some of them just didn't work at all.

But we are where we are financially and I'm hoping Warnock's visit to the tombola brings some lucky dips and he can get the group to gel.At least none of them will be on long contracts and huge wages, so the new manager will not be hamstrung.

Morsy not needed at the time, already had a number of central midfielders and imo he hasn’t improved the team one iota compared with what we already had.

Watmore has worked out well so far, Akpom is a disaster, the pound shop Fleming right back is poor and now injured for a year (possibly a blessing in disguise although we now have Pettier as back up which is another worry), Mendez-Laing and the 4 loan signings last year were ineffectual in the main.

So one decent signing last year. Signings so far this year do not indicate any increase in quality, let’s hope they are all squad fillers and we get in another 6 or so with the quality needed to target the top six, which is what the manager is after presumably.

A midfield of Morsy, Howson and Tavernier, front 3 of Watmore, Ameobi and Ikpeazu makes me shudder. That’s we have as it stands. Worrying lack of creativity and goals.

Ameobi--Ikpeazu--Watmore is a solid front three

and a huge improvement on Johnson--Akpom--Mendez-Laing

Neither is great to be fair.
3 6 9
Ameobi--Ikpeazu--Watmore is a solid front three and scored a total of 18 between them last season bearing in mind that Watmore was playing without a target man, Ikpeazu was playing for a struggling Wycombe team and Ameobi wasn't given as much of an attacking as we are going to be.

4 5 1
Johnson--Akpom--Mendez-Laing scored a total of 10 between them.

I think we are stronger right now than when we started last season

Lumley/James

Dijksteel/Howson
Fry/Wood
Hall/Bamba
Bola/Peltier

McNair/Payero
Morsy/Crooks

Tavernier/Sivi
Wing/Coulson
Watmore/Spence

Ikpeazu/Ameobi

We could easily bring in 3 or 4 more players before the window shuts.

A front pair with the grand total of 11 goals last season, God some are easily pleased

Brit & Fletcher pulled in a grand total of 9.. you could argue that Fletcher missed most of the season so Akpom was our main guy.. bringing us to a grand total of 10

Ikpeazu & Ameobi will contribute to more than 11 goals next season plus Warnock has said he want's to sign more strikers.

No point saying the glass is half empty before you even see the glass!

I’m seeing it very clearly. The striking options are little better than last year - and they were atrocious. Watmore wants to score more goals- in your mind is that a given? Looking at his career record it is far from a given. You continue to live in fantasy land if that is your want. I just can’t see how 11 goals over a 46 game season is anywhere near enough

I live in fantasy land? Where are you getting these 11 goals from?
