Nathan Wood

As was loaning out both reserve full backs/wingbacks with only Peltier to cover both flanks.
Didn't we still have Dijksteel and Fisher when we loaned out Spence? Peltier was only brought in to cover for Fisher when he knacked his knee.

He'll get a few games here and the "experts" will declare him s***e and demand he be got rid of along with Fry, Tav, Spence and every other young player who doesn't set the world alight in every game.

In a couple of years the same people will moan that we did get rid of him.

The truth is is he's hardly played and we don't know if he's good enough yet let alone whether he's the answer to our problems. Good enough to make the numbers up at best at the moment I'd say.

Any different to those claiming he should be in the team without having seen him?

No it's the same & that's the point I was trying to make as well, perhaps not clearly enough. We just don't know how good he is or isn't at the moment do we?

We won't know till he gets a good run of games somewhere which helps him prepare for men's football. Under 23s and England youth teams isn't going to prepare him for the physicality of the Championship. Hopefully follows the same path as Ben Gibson, develops at a football league club where he is first choice then comes back ready to challenge here.

We can't throw him into our defence at the minute, it's a bit of a shambles and setting him up to fail. He'll get targeted like Rotherham did last season.

I agree - needs to be at a good League 1 team level playing week in week out and then pushing on with us if he's good enough.

Hasn't he already done that and now wants a higher level, hence the Hibs move where he wasn't considered good enough?
He was at Crewe for a couple of months last season. I don't know what's happened at Hibs, if they don't think he's good enough it doesn't say much for him but if we've called him back because he's not getting a game then that's different. For me he needs to gout on loan for the second half of the season & play every week at a decent level. If he can't get a game at League 1 level then to me that suggests he's he's not going to be good enough but until he plays somewhere we'll never know.

Alternatively we throw him in our team and he swims or sinks!

We're playing 3 CBs, lots of protection. We ain't going up or down so what's the harm in giving him a run of games. He's an outstanding prospect.
