Name a shop that is closed in Teesside that you love to bring back.

There was a great model shop on either Wilson Street or Brunswick Street. Always seemed to be jam packed, floor to ceiling, with Airfix models, balsa wood flying models and radio controlled aeroplanes.
Later in life, I missed the Lion and Falcon.

The scalextric race car track shop.
It was knocked down for ceveland
Centre..had about 8 track racing in full length of the shop..from front to back with a small staircase in middle due to a slight incline sounds

Sounds epic

As mentioned, Fearnley’s. He lives just round the corner from me btw…80 years young.
Hamilton’s music shop.
Tony’s Records in Redcar.
Mrs Johnson’s toy shop in Marske
The Candy Box in Marske.
Worked in Hamilton's (Newhouses) too. Not sacked from there... 👍

There was a good old sweetshop on Brotton high street that we used to go in when mam went up there to do her shopping.

Early 70s, yuou could get everything that you wanted in the High Street, get your money out from the Barclays bank and then work your way down the hill and home.

My sister in the pram and me sat on top.

2 others are Stockton moddlers up near the church and the sweet shop on silver street, used to get a 1/4 of kayligh (flavoured sugar) or lambs tails (liquoric torpedos) with my swimming locker change every Saturday…

Patterson’s on The Green at Norton. Not because it was anything special, it was just a newsagent, but because it was the first place I was allowed to go on my own as a kid. Saturday morning, aged 7/8, either on bike or walk, down to Patterson’s with my money for my Panini stickers, Roy of the Rovers comic and a box of candy cigarettes or a mix-up bag. Happy days.

Incidentally it was where I first learned of inflation and capitalism as my stickers went from 5p for 10 to 10p for five!! I’m sure the cost of the comic and sweets also went up but I didn’t notice that as much.

Can you tell him thank you. He sold me my first adult bike in 1984. In the intervening 38 years I've owned many bikes; stolen, broken, repaired, restored, bought and sold. It is one of the 5 that remain and, despite a dent in the top tube, it's still fully functional and one of my favourites.

Yeah, also thank him from me as he allowed a cycling obsessed 11 year old to hang around in his shop multiple times asking questions, taking home catalogues and generally not buying very much - a real gent.

Keith’s Barbershop on Lampton Street, Normanby.

Keith (Phillips) wasn’t a bad barber but his craic was brilliant. Sadly passed away long before his time.

So many funny stories to tell about this man. 😜👍

Another One for Leslie Browns. But also Skinnergate cycles.

Oh and Bandland when it was on prince regent street. I bought my first guitar there and remember rocking uo as an eager little kid at 9:30 and waiting ages for the shop to open. To this day I remember the guy, who I presume was the owner telling me: “so that’s rule number 1, musicians do NOT wake up early”
