Muzzy Carayol on playing for Aitor Karanka

Eight games without conceding wasn’t it?

18 Jan 2014 Boro 1-0 Charlton
Leicester 2-0 Boro
Boro 0-0 Wigan
Doncaster 0-0 Boro
Blackburn 0-0 Boro
Watford 1-0 Boro
Boro 0-0 Leeds
Sheff Wed 1-0 Boro
8 March 2014 Boro 2-0 Ipswich

Didn't concede many in that run, but it was 7 without scoring.

Fair enough. In the long term, it meant the team knew what was expected from them. We had Curtis Main at the time leading the line. I’d rather a work ethic and ethos is ingrained than having some bad attitude Charlie on the wing undermining everything.

No, you merely misinterpreted it, but I appreciate you can’t see that. I can’t control your interpretation of it, that said, I acknowledged I could have worded my initial comment better tbf. Anyway, enjoy what is left of your day.
To be honest I didn't have a clue what you were on about until you explained you were trying to preempt and put a stop to anyone trying to make it an issue about race. Then it became crystal clear. Anyway I'm about to enjoy what is left of my day (slightly sinister). Hope you do too.

I remember Carayols' performance away at Blackburn. I really thought we'd unearthed a real gem but for me he flattered to deceive here. I remember he wouldn't track back and I'd imagine that was probably a big reason why Karanka maybe didn't fancy him.

Significant impact? Chalobah?

Higher level? Butterfield?

Not sure I agree tbh Newy. In any case I don't think there's much relevance in what they did at other clubs to Carayol's comments.

Chalobah has played for England and 50 odd games in the premier league

whitehead had over 230 premier league games for stoke and sunderland.

Butterfield has 300 championship games and 27 goals

Adomah 600 odd games and over 100 goals and 2 premier league promotions

Friend 450 games including a promotion to premier league

Leadbitter 540 games, 80 in premier league, 58 career goals captained boro, ipswich and sunderland

Omeruo has 200 career games and played in the eredivise, turkish super league and la liga and has 50 nigeria caps

Ayala 250 odd league games 21 in premier league a promotion with Middlesbrough 26 goals

Tomlin 565 games 120 goals, premier league promotion with Cardiff, league one promotion with Peterborough

Carayol has played 300 career games and scored 41 goals, however half the games and goals were league 2 or conference he does have 7 games for Gambia though

id say all of those players have done better than carayol over their careers.

I liked Carayol and he had good potential if he’d listened more he could of had as good a career as Adomah Who Karanka improved immensely, that said he never looked the same after that injury, it certainly took that blistering acceleration away.

Both played more games at a higher level and both contributed to the team. I have no sympathy for the guy trying to make out like he was hard done to.. turning up to training and not enjoying it as much as he should or Karakana speaking to him in a certain way. Quite happy to sit on the bench for the rest of the season. “Listen bro, I’m never gonna play for you again“ - sounds like a total pillock.
