Muniz

I wonder if we’d signed him on a permanent if he would be playing. Looked a very good player to me but given he’s not been outstanding, maybe it’s been better to give minutes to assets who are going potentially have long term value to the club.

His problem is his best form coincided with the team's worst.

Thought he looked great when he first came in, a proper nuisance for defenders, but as the performances under Wilder deteriorated, he fell away with them.

The fact that he's not had many minutes under Carrick could be down to style or just unfortunate timing, but we've got a plan for the forward players now that maybe he doesn't fit as well as the others.

It's a shame, as it's no reflection on his ability, and his attitude throughout seems exemplary, but it does feel like his future lies elsewhere. There's little point keeping a loan player we don't appear to need.

It always seemed a strange choice to have your main striker as a loan signing. Even if Forss and Hoppe were ‘development’ strikers as Wilder claimed how are they meant to develop without playing?

According to my mate who is Fulham and has connections at the club, both clubs have agreed to terminate the agreement, so presume they have something else lined up for him.

I can see him figuring in the last 10 games of the season, given the chance. End in sight, days getting longer etc. In the meantime give him vitamin D.

Going to don tin hat and say I would try him before Forss for a few games and if it does not work by end of the window fair enough. Don't think Forss has enough goals in him to start even though he scored a cracker last game
Muniz has not had much game time since Carrick came in and changed system so let's try him before binning him. There would be no Akpom here had many posters got their way.

Simply not worked out. Yet another great Boro forward loan signing. We really do struggle to get a forward in.

I never got the hype. He's young and Brazilian... That's it. A few say he's 'never been given a chance'. Yet that's probably for a reason. He would play if he's good enough in training etc.

He's costing us more than a few quid. That's even picking up 50% of his wages. I imagine it's nearer to 100%. Also 1-2mil loan fee.

I think it's probably best for Boro and Muniz to cut it short. He can still go out on loan and play for another club (unlike Mowett).

Downing mentioned getting in a striker in January a few weeks ago. He said somebody like Adam Armstrong who was also linked last summer. Maybe, if Muniz goes, we might have the money to tempt Southampton with a loan move as they need to bring in somebody to get them off the bottom of the PL.
