MR Warnock - a list of what we expect from our players

I am a little disappointed by Warnocks comments this afternoon. Maybe he thought there is no point lacing in to the players- he may have a point.

Just a word of caution, if he expects raw- throated Teessiders to buy into his request for full and committed support, he needs to assemble a squad capable of delivering an exciting and committed team on the pitch. Not one whose regular tactic of booting the ball as far up the pitch.

One that shows it matters playing for MFC. One that TRIES every game it plays. One prepared to sweat and toil to win every game. One that demonstrates the hurt when losing a game. One that possesses the attitude and demonstrates they are winners.

Too often this season the attitude and application by certain players has been one of not caring and simply can’t be bothered. This is totally unacceptable.

And, rest assured, if this occurs in front of a paying public, any player will unmercifully be lambasted.

Boro fans can take a defeat - if the players give their all. Losses like today? Then players would need to be aware they will be left in no doubt what their performance merits.

I hope and trust all incoming players adopt the attributes outlined. If they do they will receive the love and support of a fan base crying out to see victories and decent football. UTB

A very well thought out response following a pathetic performance that showed no desire or commitment. Well said Nosmo!

King of the boo boys

I recon one poor performance and you’ll be screaming for mr Warnocks head.

calm down, in this division we couldn’t be in better hands irrespective of what you think ; it’s a fact.
just get behind the lads because there will be less than average performances or results next season. That’s football.

Calm down! Performances like that are for Sunday morning leagues, not the Championship.

An issue with some of our supporters is they are quite prepared to put up with any old performance. To improve you need to question, probe why certain players performances are literally shocking.

To some this is completely alien . Each to their own. However without recognising and then dealing with the shortcomings you run the risk of never improving your lot.

That’s why I don’t get those who frankly criticise any poster who points out the deficiencies. The irony being if you don’t you won’t improve - something we all want - isn’t it?

The last 10 games or so we're on pretty much relegation form. During this time Warnock's musings in the press have been to pretty much throw the towel in and not bother. Our £22 million strike force has been shooed out of the door on full wages, Akpom has been pushed out, the youngsters haven't featured much and we've put in some absolutely woeful performances.

I'm really concerned that after the majority of his signings failing to pull up any trees we're going to go all in on a workman like hoofball team of battlers with little quality for a one year, one shot attempt at getting up by the play-offs (I'm guessing). It's going to be an interesting summer.

I can understand the concerns but I think we best remind ourselves of the reality of our situation and where we would be without someone with the experience of Warnock. We were hamstrung by Garry Monk wasting colossal amounts of cash on under performing strikers. Assombalonga was a woeful footballer in general and this season his attitude has been atrocious. We are strapped for cash and are shopping in the bargain basement. Our January loan siginings did‘t really improve us but on paper they all looked a good idea.
Injuries to our key players have hampered us and our goalkeepers have both been dubious. To finish 10th is a fine achievement.

But he chose both keepers and binned our two out? He pursued and signed his unfit players in January and dropped Johnson who had made good contributions in the early part of the season to accommodate them. He made Britt Captain and repeatedly picked him. He signed Akpom and played him then dismissed him, after spending the majority of our transfer budget on him, when his history suggested he was nothing like wheat we needed.

At what point do we question the cult of Warnock?

Since January, we've not been far off relegation form. Most of his signings have been adequate, to no better than what we had. I've been decidedly non-plussed by a lot of what he's been saying in interviews too.

If money is tight and we're in the bargain basement I'm not sure building a squad to Warnock's requirements for one season is prudent financial sense.

I can understand him giving the captains armband to Britt through sheer desperation and hope to get the big lump to look half interested which
for me was always going to fail.

Can't really argue with the rest.

What boro fans expect from players:

1. Boro Badge Tattoo on the Chest
2. Defenders to play like Ronaldo
3. Midfielders to play like Mo Farah (and Mike Tyson)
4. Attackers to play like Mike Tyson (and Mo Farah)
5. Goalkeepers MUST play for another club.
6. Academy players need to start as the finished product.
7. All signings should be from non-league.. because they are all Jamie Vardy.
8. Players should live in Pallister Park or North Ormesby and walk to home matches.
9. Post match discussions in the Rudds Arms after home matches or the Dickens Inn after home games.
10. At least one Brazilian young player of the year, attacking midfielder to be signed each summer, 5ft 5ins.. called Juninho
11. No player should ever join another club, if they do not fit the needs of the club or their contract ends they should retire ASAP.

Stojanović still has another two years and should have played this year.
there was obviously something not quite right, maybe his distribution if warnock had planner to have a big striker up top?

it might have been cash related? an attempt to free up some monies? does Stojanović put another 14 points on the table this season if we had kept him?

He is better than Bettinelli who was truly shocking

I thought his distribution was good. He seemed to get more accuracy to the long kicks down the channels.

The number of points we might have got is hypothetical but it must have have been totally demoralising playing in front of Bettenelli and seeing some of the goals he conceded. We probably only needed 6 more prior to the last 10 games to have had a real go for the playoffs rather than Warnock already giving up in preparation for next season.
