Mowbray close to tears

Tony Mowbray is a professional,we don't matter a jot to him we can't.He has to do the best for his employers, this has been proved constantly over years never more so than the Dael Fry incident. He must of known Fry since he was a young lad but all he was concerned with was protecting his own player.I don't like Mowbray and won't until he retires then I'll go back to loving him.

Haven't seen the clip, but apparently Mowbray was close to tears when applauding the Blunderland fans at full time today.

If true I cannot comprehend that.
Cos you have a narrow mind? Not everyone sees football as tribalism. Tribalism brings the worse in people

It’s probably one of his top achievements as a manager. He’s bound to feel emotional about it

He’s probably got stick from boro and Sunderland fans. Probably means a lot to him

I'm pleased for him. He's had belters from people all over the place, but carries on with his own philosophy.

Yes he didn't get it quite right here but given the options he had he was amazing, just at the end it all went pear shaped.

Good luck to him wherever he goes, I'll never forget the fun and elation that he gave me during his time here as a player, and you can';t say that about many players.

A top, top man too.

Sorry but I love mogga and always will but hope if we meet at Wembley we stuff em mogga is a Boro legend just look at name of board we posting on
He is a legend as a player, but he can still be a **** as a manager, if at any point though we lose to one of his teams, again, whoever they are, then i will not consider him a legend anymore, I wont be anything but a pi$$ed off, angry fan and he can feck off. Mackem 💩

soz tone.

I don’t actually think he was close to tears. If you listen to TM on any lengthy interview/podcast about his roots etc he isn’t a particularly emotional guy. He’s done them with Dave Allen, Bernie, Shaun Keogh and countless others, plus there’s his book (largely about his first wife’s death).

He sometimes talks about his dad and says “it makes me feel emotional” but you never see him fighting back tears. He categorically states that Boro is and always will be “his club” but he, again, never sounds especially emotional when he says it. He’s a pretty straight talking, matter of fact guy and not hugely charismatic in truth.

So in a nutshell, I think he’ll reflect on this as a very good achievement but I don’t think he is fighting back tears at all, it’s just raining and he’s squinting a bit.

I think football without the tribalism would be crap. Dont you celebrate with other Boro fans when we score? Or sing Boro songs along with the crowd?
There’s difference between tribalism and being patriotic(can’t think of another word hah) about your team

It’s a fine line

Good luck to him wherever he goes, I'll never forget the fun and elation that he gave me during his time here as a player, and you can';t say that about many players.

Even in the Rioch days, 'fun' was never a word I associated with Mowbray. Even back then, when giving post match interviews as a 23 yr old player, he was like a battle hardened miserable old manager.
