Most unimpressive celebrity sighting

On behalf of my boxer dog, received the "dog who looks most like its owner" first prize rosette at the Claremorris, County Mayo agricultural show from a celebrity Irish radio presenter. No idea who she was and still don't, but my work mates were giddy with excitement to be in her presence. And I still have the rosette if you don't believe me.

Me and my mate were once messing around on our guitars in my Notting Hill flat, c. 2006, playing the usual Led Zeppelin riffs turned up to 11 with the windows wide open (the flat was ridiculously hot in summer).

Came down the stairs, Jimmy Page was literally stood outside the front door (looking in the windows of the art gallery beneath my flat). My mate (a bigger Zeppelin fan than me) was literally speechless. I do wonder what he thought of our rendition of Stairway.

This wasn't 'unimpressive' but I have far too many of those, mostly from the same era. Caprice once cycled past me and tutted, for example.

Could have come straight from a Father Ted sketch.

Pixie McKenna in Kings Cross station on her laptop having a coffee. She looked rather tidy I must say.

Jonny from Big Brother fame at Newcastle station catching a train to KX. He was on SMTV (or whatever it was then) the next day.

Flying Heathrow to Teesside, the old Friday night fligh, me and the Lighthouse familly in business class (remember the curtain) I didn’t have a clue who they were. Someone quite excited about it told me when we got off.

Was sat on a minibus in 2014 going past Lord's cricket ground and i had some Oasis playing on my earphones. As I'm listening to Oasis I see Noel Gallagher casually walking down the street with his shades on. Was surprised how small he looked

He lives quite close to there.

Former US Secretary of State Colin Powell at a cocktail party at the Ambassador's Residence at the British Embassy in Washington DC (only underwhelming as he didn't attempt to hide the fact that he found talking to other guests extremely tedious. He did tell us that his favourite Abba song was Mama Mia though 🤷).

This was in the days of Sir Kim Darroch's reign as Ambassador (top bloke btw) so it's quite ironic that the only other famous person I ever met at a function at the embassy was Boris Johnson 🙄

Also met Princess Anne at the British Consulate here in Chicago. Wanted to dislike her but actually was very impressed.

We have our winner. I genuinely had the grumbleweeds in mind when I started the thread. They are the most unimpressive famous people.
No sorry don’t believe this - can we see the rosette 😁

🐔

The bald one out of the Grumbleweeds outside the Spar shop in Hurworth - I don’t know what he’s called 😁

OMG I totally forgot the Grumbleweeds existed! Used to listen to their radio show when I was a kid (and we called my sister Gasmask Wilf as she spent pretty much her whole summer holiday at Bournemouth with her snorkel and mask on)

I saw Brendan Cole of strictly come dancing ‘fame’ in oxford... women were getting excited, but I don’t think his partner was sadly...
