Most of us agree that we should be guided by Scientists

..............so why is there such a great disparity in what Scientists around the world are saying. Surely if they are all looking at the same facts and figures they should be generally on the same page but some are not even on the same book. No wonder people are confused and are just doing their own thing. Take masks for instance and the information we are following. But in Holland......

It’s a good point but scientists make a living out of questioning things and researching, they are at the heart of trying to make sense of the unknown, it’s inevitable there will be a lot of different theories.

The problem is there is no such thing as science!!

So you can’t follow the science as it doesn’t exist, and is such banal infantile throwaway phrase.

Evidence does, facts do.

Not all scientists will 100% agree on everything so to argue your science is right is ridiculous As it changes it evolves it can be debunked discredited disproved.

Science takes time. Research has to undertaken, proved and disproved, but sooner or later a consensus will be found.

It's been like this for centuries.

The problem is that these days everybody expects things to happen overnight.

The effectiveness of masks is looked at from many angles including impact on behaviour, hence differing views on their usage.
In general different assumptions, different sample sizes, different locations will all lead to differing results and interpretation. The problem at the moment is that people are wanting answers to things immediately that would usually take years to assess the impact of.

I thought the Instagram generation took their cues from celebrities. If Madonna tells us it's all a hoax, then who am I to disagree... along with her 20 million followers?!
If Madonna has said that then she should be locked up. And if her 20m ‘followers’ take any notice of her then no wonder we end up with the likes of Johnson and Trump. It’s depressing isn’t it?

At the supermarket this morning, Morrisons, social distancing went out of the window. Folks wear wearing masks, all but 1 older man.

Read it a couple of days ago. She posted a conspiracy theory then took it down. This is part of the problem. These air heads, like kanye West and his wife's tribe have tens of millions of followers who hang on their every word. They put out some bull**** theory and the acolytes lap it up.

Scientists aren't independent. They are funded by people with agendas. A lot of those agendas are profit driven. It takes a while to reach a consensus and even then there will be alternative opinions. Like there is plenty of evidence that contradicts climate change but there is overwhelmingly more that confirms it.

Have you seen the video on YouTube about climate change that Michael Moore coproduced?
Some interesting arguments in it.

You mean this one?:

Michael Moore presents Planet of the Humans, a documentary that dares to say what no one else will — that we are losing the battle to stop climate change on planet earth because we are following leaders who have taken us down the wrong road — selling out the green movement to wealthy interests and corporate America. This film is the wake-up call to the reality we are afraid to face: that in the midst of a human-caused extinction event, the environmental movement’s answer is to push for techno-fixes and band-aids. It's too little, too late.

Down load it before its deleted!

That's the one, the name was on the tip of my tongue. Was going to look it up when I got home.
The logging industry in America was certainly an eye opener, especially when you see they supply biomass plants.

And who better to have as the leader of the free world than a failed businessman in bed with corporate America.
