Most influential band of all time...

Agree with Dylan, the Beatles' music took a different direction after being exposed to him (he also introduced them to cannabis).

I think the post-punk bands of the late 70s (Joy Division, Gang of Four etc) had a massive influence on bands of the last 10-15 years. Decent ones anyway

I was never a lover of the Beetles, but you can't complain about their music.

Dylan is a good shout and many artists have tried to copy his story telling song writing.

I spat my tea out when I seen the Sheriffs mention of Girls Aloud. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I would say that Dylan was the greatest influence. The effect he had on The Beatles was tremendous. Sixties bands had no idea where songwriting could go but the change that Dylan ushered in is with us to this day. It isn't always good, too many think that simple stream of consciousness will suffice whilst Dylan's lyrics always painted a picture in the listeners mind.
With respect to Dylan , he couldn’t bloody sing !

That's a matter of opinion though. Sure he uses he uses his voice differently to most but when you listen properly you hear the truth. I think he's the greatest singer in the world.
I shall listen again and take in mind what you say . I guess it’s not all melody

I love his lyrics probably more than his music- and his contemporary content: Hurricane is a brilliant song. Highway 61 is my favourite album of his. I reckon the lyrics to Positively 4th Street are ******g ace to anyone you cant stand.."you`ve got a lot of nerve to say you are my friend. You say hello. Good luck, but you dont mean it.................I wish that for just one time, you could stand inside my shoes - you`de know what a drag it is to see you......." [Ace!](y)
