I always loved the daily gossip page on Ceefax. I remember during some school hols in early 85 reading that Boro were set to sign John Kay on loan from Wimbledon. I then went along to watch Boro train on Hall Drive in Acklam and asked Willie Maddren about it to which he replied "how the Hell do you know about that?" He was amazed when I told him we were now famous on Ceefax.

Booked a fortnight in Turkey for a family of four for £800 off ceefax in 1997,mind you the phone call cost about a tenner.Remember when you would look at holidays on ceefax

I remember bamboozle with quizmaster Bamber Boozler. The annoying thing was if you got one question wrong you had to go all the way back to the beginning and answer all the questions you had already answered.
It had soap operas and a couple of fictitious diaries for teenagers which were strangely addictive, Debbie’s Diary and Josh’s Diary. In one episode Debbie lost her cherry which was a bit surprising before the watershed!

And don't forget the ability to being to make the page bigger for those that needed a whole screen to read 2 lines of text.
The clubcall teasers on teletext were the source for all in the know people back in day.
In fact I'm sure that's where Jonjo Shelvey and one other originated.

I booked a 3 day holiday to Corfu for about £80 doing that. Took me all night, I missed the page so had to sit through about 70 pages until it came back around.
How long did that take

I remember being called into the boss’s office sometime in the early 1990s to be told that if I paid for the calls to clubcall that i had already made they wouldn’t take it any further but DON’T ring that number again.....
