Darren Moore believes 16-year-old debutant Morgan Rogers has a bright future ahead of him at Albion.

The highly-rated England under-17 international scored four goals for Albion's under-23s in a 6-2 victory over Norwich last week, and was rewarded with his first appearance for the senior side. He had also played for the England U15s and U16s teams.

"There was some youngsters on the pitch who performed admirably for the team," said Moore.
"Young Morgan Rogers made his debut at 16, believe it or not he was at school until 3.15pm. He came straight from school and joined up with the squad.
"It's a wonderful story for him and his family and the academy. It's a proud night for us to see one so young make his debut amongst men."

By August 2019 he swapped the Baggies shirt for Manchester City .
But his stay at Citeh wasnt very productive, although he claimed he enjoyed his time with the Citizens. He didnt make a single first-team appearance, not even from the bench and spent his first 18 months playing with the U23`s. He was loaned out to Lincoln in January 2021 [aged 19]. He did well at the Imps - making 28 appearances and scoring 6 goals, picking up a Young Player of The Month Award along the way.

Rogers joined Bournemouth and then Blackpool on loan, until the end of the 22/23 season. He made 22 appearances for the Seasiders from January 2023 to the end of the season: his longest run in any team he had played till then. It was clear that he was never going to get a chance at the Etiad - with all the expensive glitterati of stars. Like many youngsters, he had been hoovered up by a "big" club in the top flight, with no chance of getting a serious run in the senior team, or even a space on the bench.

Rogers scored the winning goal as Blackpool beat Norwich at Carrow Road on the final day of the 22/23 season **
At 21, he`s still a young man, with plenty of potential, but also a good deal of experience under his belt. This is his first real professional contract - where he knows he is part of the team, has already got game time - including pre season. Its the first opportunity he has had to prove himself, so its a tough upward curve. Hes got some "rough" edges, but Michael Carrick*** has faith in his goal-scoring ability and develop his all round game. In Carrick we trust. (y)

Really like this lad. 100% commitment. No ostensible ego so good team player. Tireless effort. Needs a long run of games to refine his first touch, get used to team mates and build confidence further.
