Spare pasta and a tomato. 10 DAYS?

That was supposedly £30 of food. I just spent £60 on a trolley full of food at Aldi, someone is getting rich on Government money AGAIN. Is there anything lower than stealing from children's welfare?

Sorrry missed yesterday's thread.

That is criminal even accounting for any Admin costs in the supply and delivery of the food to those in need.
I have a regular Morrisons £10 donation to the Trussell Trust set up and it goes to the Middlesbrough food bank. I'm sure that that food they can buy for that £10 and deliver it to those in need is much better than what the government are doing.
Now Marcus Rashford is involved there may just be enough shame circulating that it gets resolved or we get to see where the money is going and to whom it is being given.
I know it's a hard task to get everything right in a situation like the one we've faced for the past year, but these constant issues can't just be put down to the difficulty of the situation, they must be investigated for being wilful waste of public funds at best, corrupt transfer of public funds at worst.

I’m trying to find if there’s any truth in the accusation that a private company has been paid £30 a parcel and is providing £5.22 parcels to the families? It’s being suggested this is the case but is it really? If do, there surely should be a greater outcry against this? Or is it media hype and half truths?
You’d think there would be also TTS of people asking the difficult questions..,

Not true in all cases. There are plenty of stories that show the opposite also. Obviously made a balls up somewhere but their is no suggestion its the majority

It's a pretty difficult position to defend Cooper, even if some food hampers are adequate, if some are not then it has to be condemned surely?

Something I did on the other thread. I said the one is in the original isn’t acceptable but its not fair to paint a picture that it is.

The actual budget is £15 per child (from what I have read) the lady in the original post has 2 children hence the £30 quote.

There is no way on earth my daughter has a £6 meal a day at school.

I’ve gotta say I wasn’t trying to defend the state of the food packages I’m just trying to understand where the truth lies...

there’s a fast rolling bandwagon and a lot of people have jumped on it without knowing the full story...

chartwells the company responsible have admitted the package originally photographed was poor, but stated they’re paid £10.50 for each package not £30...

at the end of the day though, there should be no profit made from this enterprise and it as usual stinks of Tory cronyism or corruption...

It is another very clear undeniable example even to the governments Lord Haw Haws on here, of public funding being totally misused to benefit big corporations. The voucher scheme used in March gave parents £3 per day to get their child a proper lunch from the local supermarkets. You got £3 worth of food for £3. The government won’t reinstate the voucher scheme as it doesn’t give the big school catering contractors the chance to ‘skim’ the public purse. You can’t justify the top slice they are taking between what they receive and what they provide. If they didn’t try and achieve such margins the scheme could have worked. These examples which thank God Rashford has taken up just expose the abuse of public money that is rife and encouraged by a rudderless inept government. Interesting to see what Tory MP’s or Ex MP advise or sit on the Board of the companies involved?

We are feeding the poorest kids,
remember where you read it!
Half a pepper, two potatoes,
the cheapest cheese and bread,
yes it's a Salad Days existence
on the Universal Credit.

We are feeding the poorest kids,
we compassionate Conservatives,
privately cursing that footballer,
while dishing out superlatives
like shop window nodding dogs,
choking on chummy affirmatives.

We are feeding the poorest kids,
but their parcels will all arrive
half-full of fresh air and food not there,
like a youthful economy drive.
In a welcome bonus to party donors,
the less you eat, the more they thrive!

We are feeding the poorest kids
with help from our good friends, who
we’re paying £30 for each parcel
while your child eats £5.22.
We are feeding the poorest kids,
but not as much as we’re feeding off you.

Its £10.50 per parcel. Anyone with a child at school would know that their child does not get a £6 meal a day.

Hey whats a few white lies though
