He’s trying to stick to the round pegs in round hole stall he set out. Not sure it’s the best way to go as things stand. Marc Bola shouldn’t be starting ahead of them 2.I can’t understand playing both Bola and Dijksteel today. Neither were great last week and we have Fry and McNair sitting on the bench. Surely away from home we should be a bit more defensive minded.
Agree. I thought he should have brought the kid on, completely lost the momentum.Manager made an **** of last sub. When McNair came on him, and Crooks started to link up with Jones and cause them big problems. He brought Smith on and moved McNair and Crooks and we never caused a threat on right after that. Jones was isolated and Smith hardly crossed the half way line.
We were done on the right side after that.
Another poor take from you. You are consistent, I will give you that. The whole Boro summer transfer business looks weird. Most of you reckon Lumley was too error prone so Boro signed a goalie with a track record of huge mistakes. He made one today.
The defence last season was pretty good so Boro sign a centre half from Blackburn and bench one of last season's centre halves. Lenihan looks slow and has missed lots of games through suspensions, and was red carded today.
Tavernier transferred out but nobody brought in to replace him so far. Last season the big problem was lack of goals, but only one striker brought in so far. Akpom and Watmore? Dear God.
Meanwhile the season is underway, five more league games and a cup game before the transfer window closes. There's no urgency. It's just weird. It's like Wilder thinks this is preseason and it'll all start in September.

I agree. Midfield has suddenly become a problem area and ultimately it's still where most games are won and lost. We need another proven player in there - have they really scouted for that area I wonder i.e. did they plan for Tav's leaving (you'd hope so)? We need that obscure Ligue 1 performer with magic feet, a Mahrez or Benrahma plucked out of nowhere who instantly looks a class above...That has to be down to the players then. They have shown they can do it for some of the game, so why not all of it. I think we need a reset in midfield and certainly genuine competition for all 3 places. We can be good in possession yet out of it and in transition we seem quite naïve. My optimism in the summer was based on Wilder getting the tools he needs. When he gets them I think we will do well.
Don't think it's remotely sudden. It looked to be lacking in depth to begin with. Letting Payero go removed an option no matter how remote it was, selling Tav broadcast the fact at prime time on all channels. Bringing in one replacement addresses the most recent problem, but solves very little.I agree. Midfield has suddenly become a problem area and ultimately it's still where most games are won and lost.
Our keeper didn’t make an error, the referee did - a howler in fact, so much so he felt the need to come out with some bullshít comment trying to explain his mistake by saying our keeper isn’t strong enough. The whole Boro summer transfer business looks weird. It was a clear foul on the keeper, proffessional enough to be a yellow card. He wasn't challenging for the ball, his feet were planted and he gave the keeper a shove on the shoulder. This meant he misjudged the flight of the ball and it led to a goal. Our keeper didn’t make an error, the referee did - a howler in fact, so much so he felt the need to come out with some bullshít comment trying to explain his mistake by saying our keeper isn’t strong enough.
