More meanness and bile from The Nasty Party

"I am delighted our local businesses have bounced back so much after lockdown they are able to give away food for free, and very much hope they will not be seeking any further government support."

I don’t know whether something is lost because this is written so you have no tone but surely she is saying she is delighted that businesses are doing so well they have money for food and in the same way you would say to your dr I hope I don’t see you again , she is simply saying that she hopes the businesses continue to do well that they don’t need to seek more assistance - thats the obvious way to read it - I’m obviously in the minority but what do you think she meant by it?

Give over 😂

"Context" on Twitter?

Do me a favour, you post a short "tweet"keep within the character limit that's it, there isn't a long stream of consciousness/context from which the tweet can be taken.

And I learn that in a (presumably Cummings orchestrated) letter to Keir Starmer a hundred+ Tory MPs have objected to being called "Tory Scum", that epithet is beginning to sound like flattery.
Presumably, the Tory MPs who didn't sign the letter are quite happy with the description.

How many kids do you think are starving in the north east right now. As this is not acceptable at all in this day and age. I have been on and off the dole all my life ( contractor) so never really experienced real hardship as put away for the bad times. Is their no help for these kids are their parents not getting financial help. I honestly do not understand how we have starving children in this country when their is a welfare state to help those on hard times

On a somewhat lighter note, the lovely Susie Dent has consistently called this lot out on twitter, in her usual thoughtful, understated way. This morning's offering:

"Word of the day is ‘pinchfart’ (16th century): a miser; one who withholds money to the detriment of others."
Haha. Yes see 4 posts up!

You have to love that tweet from Susie Dent. History has been littered with pinchfarts over the years. Apart from those who voted against extending school meal vouchers we have

probably the worst pinchfart of them all.

Can someone answer me. I am not a nasty Tory and nor am I labour either. I don’t want to see children starve but just giving them free meals is not the answer for me. If the dole can not get them the basics to feed your family should we not be looking at that and how much should we give those that are struggling.

Some children are entitled to free school meals. That's always been the case. Do they suddenly stop feeling hungry during school holidays?

No they do not I myself went on free school dinners. Free school meals are nothing new but why all of sudden do we have starving children.
