Monsoon rain why did the game carry on

The monsoon rain really did make it difficult for us to score the winner today and the ref should of taken the players back to the changing room and waited for the weather too pass to play through it was bizarre

Rain should be catered for when visiting Devon or Cornwall. It comes at you from both east and west.
Should have some wellies pitch side to change into.

We have become soft with modern football. Remember when we played in ploughed fields and snow.
When was the last time we used the orange ball? It used to be a regular feature in winter but I can't remember seeing it for ages.

Conditions became very difficult and the ball no longer sped along the grass but no way was it unplayable. Rain or no rain, all credit to the two teams for providing such a spectacle.

The rain killed the game for both teams. It just went totally flat.
Both teams were playing lovely one touch flowing football for 75 minutes.
I never thought it was ever cause to stop the game. This is England. If we stopped for rain then one football season would be played over 3 or 4 years.
