Mobile Broadband

Is it time that a basic wifi connection was made free to all homes?

During the first lockdown, I was amazed at how many kids didn't have access to the internet at home and we had to provide wifi dongles for them.
Absolutely not it’s madness no way it would ever work how would that be paid for at least that’s what the last guy who suggested free broadband for all was shouted down with 😉

I use a 3 Broadband 4G Router (I get a strong 3 signal).
Only £15 pm but I think prices may have gone up.

How would a wifi signal be supplied to every home in the country & who would pay for it?

You and I would pay for it through our taxes.

Regarding how a basic wifi signal would be supplied - You are asking someone who struggles to get the DVD to play. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I am sure it could be done though. In France, I ride up to the local Bar Tabac which is right next to the free village wifi.

I'm all for it but people don't want to pay enough taxes to fund our NHS, Police force, Prisons, Judicial services or even to look after our elderly.

Not sure Three, EE etc would be too chuffed about everyone having a free signal in their homes.

No, they wouldn't be happy regarding taxes and I would also guess the companies wouldn't be too chipper either. A lot of people would still pay for faster speed broadband.

How it all would work is beyond me but why should kids be victims of poverty that is holding them back.

I agree entirely with you, I just don't know how it would ever work.
