Millwall Trains

After the game they will ask us to remain until the ground is cleared then the police (includes Cleveland police) will escort fans to different underground stations, on the Jubilee Line and provide escort through to main line terminus at Kings Cross. There is limited service from there onwards.
The decision to close South Bermondsey Station was only announced yesterday. The safety officer and police unsuccessfully appealed for it to be opened even for away fans only.
There followed the safety meeting for the game yesterday. So, things have moved rapidly on and plans have changed.
There will be lots of announcements to fans at the game.
I was asked for feedback and I reiterated that lots of fans come under their own steam and many from the London area. But nearly everyone exits normally on that train line towards London Bridge.
So there should be an escort to Bermondsey and also Canada Water, both on the Jubilee Line as well as New Cross I believe (further away from New Den).

If anybody was thinking of using Thameslink they are running two trains an hour from Bedford to London However they are not running to London Bridge and more crucially the last train out of London back north is 17:48. No chance unless you leave the game 20 mins early. Here is the revised Saturday timetable. Your best bet is to park at Stanmore - direct to Bermondsey on the Jubilee.

Yep Stanmore is a very good option.
Tip: If car park is full, head down to the next stop at Canons Park where there is also a fairly big car park. Likely to be quite busy as everyone going into London will be doing same. If both car parks full, I think a lot of the local street parking restrictions are Mon-Fri only so you should find somewhere, but allow extra time!

Please relay this to anyone you know travelling to the game.
The only changes would be if RISK supporters were amongst thd Boro group. This often happens at Millwall

So my train leaves London KX at 18:20, the last train I can get, is there any chance of making that based on the plans in place to keep us back and then walk us to the tube?? Will there be the usual option to leave anytime up to the 75th minute if required???

Thanks for getting all the info so we know what to expect (as of now) (y)

You'll probably need to leave before the end, but go from Bermondsey via London Overground to Highbury and Islington then get the Victoria Line back to Kings Cross. It's a little counter intuitive but usually quicker going from South of the river to Kings Cross.

That's perfect, thanks for getting the word on this Rob - any announcement on getting TO the ground? Or are we just left to our own devices for that?

Probably on tube to the stations that the cops are escorting back to post match

I wouldn't rely on London Overground. That is affected by the rail strike as well.

From TFL:

On Saturday 8 October, RMT strike action will impact services on London Overground with no services between 0400 and 0800 and after 1800. A reduced service will operate between 0800 and 1800.

There is little we can do about making our way to the ground unfortunately - but just using tube line services. And taking care etc when walking from there. There are certain to be police on the routes.
Listen out for announcements at the game would be the advice. But good to know there is a plan in hand to get us to the Jubilee Line stations and beyond.
I don't think anyone could predict how long that might all take so if you are on an early train departure from Kings Cross you might need to leave earlier unfortunately.

Yes, tube stations are about 20-25 mins from New Den. So, a bit like walking from Tottenham Stadium to the nearest underground, Seven Sisters.

So probably need to leave at 4:30 to avoid being penned in…🙁
We’ll be 3-0 up by then anyway.

If the police escort everyone to Bermondsey then I'd expect it to take longer than 20 minutes. But you can do Bermondsey to King's Cross quite quickly. A few minutes to London Bridge then about 20 minutes from there on the Northern Line assuming no delays.

I really don't know. Sadly I don't think anyone could give you a guaranteed answer now. We normally have to stay put at least 30 mins. Last year it was an hour because of exceptional circumstances but there are exceptional circumstances this year. You are going to have to compete with all the home fans using the tube stations also.
