Millwall away Train Strike

If the trains aren't running the distance to the New Den from Bermondsey Tube station on the Jubilee Line is about the same distance the Riverside is from Middlesbrough station.

A large % of Millwall fans use the train as well, so their fans need to know options as well.

Maybe the 2 MFC's need to get their heads together. Will Millwall have had this situation previuosly ?

Cardiffdaffs.....

Reading through your postings on this thread, you seem up to speed on transport down there......

Are you suggesting we could drive to eg Stevenage, Stanmore, Cockfosters....
and then be able to get to The Den by train, except for a final 15 min walk ?

Would be a right chew on driving to the ground 😡

Exactly. Parking at a Thameslink rail station (assuming they aren’t part of the strike) or tube terminus which are located just off the M1 or A1. Indeed other stations are Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City and Harpenden. St Albans (J7 of the M1) for example is only 30 mins direct to London Bridge station and the fare is about £12 for a cheap off peak return. You just hop on the tube there one stop.

This is an RMT strike which means signallers will be out so you can't rely on any National Rail lines running a service at this stage. The only signallers who will be working will be non-members, management or strike breakers. The only lines you can rely on at this stage are the London Underground and specifically those which don't use National Rail lines.

Normally away fans at the New Den are kept separate so S Bermondsey station is compulsory. If those trains aren't running they will need to put something else in place without the physical 'tunnel' used to access the station. Will the police risk it?

Free parking at Brent Cross shopping centre. 10 min walk to Northern line station direct to London Bridge. Then Jubilee to Bermondsey or Canada water

Risk what? They can still keep us imprisoned in the tunnel until the Millwall fans have dispersed.

They did last season for over an hour - because one of the expected trains to London was cancelled.
So is it possible the police have a say in whether this game goes ahead, if there are no trains running locally and the nearest tube is quite a hike away?? Just thinking the reason they don’t sell lower tier tickets is because of potential trouble and the walkway to the station for away fans is redundant if no trains, will they have food for thought?

Unless the police intend to march everyone from South Bermondsey station to Bermondsey Underground station?

The walkway to the station isn't redundant. It's serves as an exit from the stadium like any other. And it's useful to the police for imprisonment purposes.

Postponement possible ??

Brighton v palace was off recently cos couldn't handle visiting fans

Noticed brighton v spurs is same day as ours ...will that also be off for same reason as their palace visitors ?
One game off on the 8th could lead to a few ?

So I have managed to get refunded for train tickets, now stuck with match tickets and debating whether it is worth all the chew…..🙁

Anybody know of any coaches going to Millwall, aside from Ra Ra’s, looking for a couple of seats, obviously this train strike has nackered us…👍

So how is everyone getting to the ground on Saturday, considering the train strike has now taken away the South Bermondsey option??
