Mill Hill Field Acklam

Signed that - isn't there a protected, scheduled monument - medieval fishponds in one of those fields?

The fencing is to protect the football pitches from dog muck and other rubbish that is a risk to the kids football teams who now manage the land. Not only is their clubhouse getting attacked by vandals but the pitches are a health risk to kids. So not surprising they want to fence off the pitches. There will still be areas open for access.

Signed.
I also played football there in the seventies and eighties and we had no fences.
Far too many green spaces in Middlesbrough are being spoilt or knocked down.
We must protect them.
Mill Hill is enjoyed by many many people not just a football club, including dog walkers, joggers and by those who want to use the fields to play football and cricket with their mates.

Perhaps it's only a fence around the football and cricket pitches leaving some green space for walkers, joggers and dogs to mess all over. The pitches need protection from vandals, motor bikes and dog fouling. Get the fence up.

They want to errect a fence, saying there will still be space to walk around it. Yes, walk around in all the boggy area is what they don't say. Say no to the fence

This happened with Kader at Sandy flats. It now resembles a prison camp. Why should the local kids not be allowed to freely play on these open spaces, as we all did years ago, without having to play for one of the teams that use the land? The locals have as much right to their green space as kids football teams.

If you look on the Facebook page at the mess vandals have made of the clubhouse you'll realise why. Also grown men p1ss1ng on the field and dog owners leaving the muck. I'm all for the fences. My kids used to play for the teams a few years ago.

I don’t need to look at Facebook I’ve just walked around it this afternoon. The clubhouse is a complete mess I agree. Fence the clubhouse off then. I didn’t see any dog owners leaving dog muck or any grown men p1ssing.
