Just thinking back to previous times between managers, and I can remember both of these being the odds on favourite for the post at different points, leading to various shades of outrage on here.
I'm trying to remember when this was. Was it when AK was appointed, or just before Garry Monk was appointed?

There were a few other odds on favourites we cycled through as well.

Anyway, maybe it's an episode worth remembering. I don't think there was any truth in the rumours then, and the bookies odds were no indicator at all of what was going on.

Phelan was odds on before AK was hired. There was articles that he’d taken the job.

McLeish I think was up there when we brought in Monk.

Basically, the bookies market for managers is always nowhere near.

There was someone else who was hot favourite with him, can’t for the life of me remember who it was. Think he was another young number 2 who went on to be a manager…? Was it Phelan again?
