Midfield

Criminal that we never signed a midfielder in the window. We needed a different type in there if we are gonna go with this formation.

I am hoping now we have got Norwich and Brentford out of the way one of Saville or Morsy is sacrificed and we change shape and go with a 10 behind a striker. Something needs to change because the current set up isn’t working and Saville, Morsy and Howson can’t play together.

It can work if you play man for man, as it did at Norwich (and Brentford away). But today, the three of them were in a line too deep or too forward, and not supporting each other to pick up loose balls.

I do worry that if Warnock persists with 3 midfielders from now until the end of the season it could prove costly.

It may have been necessary earlier in the season, when we had to keep things tight but we now have the attacking players which should allow us to play a more attacking formation.

It's an obvious thing to say but if we're going to make the play-offs we're going to have to win games, so I feel we need to take the handbreak off.

Warnock has done well to keep us in the mix with a fairly limited squad, but now is the time for us to really push on.

Agree mate

Agreed. Desperately missing Tav’s energy in there. Warnock said himself this week he likes him in the middle so I hope he comes straight back in when fit.

We still need to 'keep things tight'. A bigger concern than not scoring, especially as we created the chances, is how leaky we have become. However I agree on Tav coming in as one of the 'three' as he gives us something both attacking and defending.

Tav for Moray would be the obvious one, to give us more of a forward threat.

Saville is always the most likely of the 3 that played yesterday to get into the box.
Saville is the most likely because that is what he is given license to do i.e. support the "striker".
This is our biggest weakness: we have a terrible striker and when Saville plays in a 3, we have a terrible support player.

The team needs Tavernier back for many obvious reasons, just as it needs Fry.
We will never do anything with Assombolonga as our striker and Saville given most license to get in the box to support. They are both rubbish and cost over £23m.

Bolasie and Watmore have what it takes and I hope Mendez Laing and Kebano do too.
We don't have a centre forward worth a **** on the books, it is our blindingly obvious Achilles heal.
