Midfield 3 with Payero now fit

Jones is a starter. Wouldnt drop him to accommodate Howson or Spence if he comes back. Tav or Howson would be the ones to make way for Payero. We've only won one in six i think so its not impossible that Wilder might want to have a look. Fatigue or a poor performance is probly only way he gets a start.

No chance manager’s pick the players that they think makes the best side.

teams evolve as that’s how sides get better.

As someone said earlier if wilder rates him he’ll be straight in

it's Howson's last season (unless we get promoted and he signs an extension), so at some point we have to try other options at the base of the 3.

After reading this thread we do have a fantastic squad of players. We should be top 2. We will get to the play offs no problem. With a run of the ball we will be lifting that play off trophy at Wembley.

Well we need to play a right footer there until we sign a specialist for the position as we don’t have a left footed centre half at the club. And McNair is doing just fine.
That's why we need to buy one. McNair is good emergency cover in midfield and at the back, that's all he is at best.

He'll be on the bench and rightly so, those areas of him will keep their place as long as they are performing.

I cant see him in the Howson role, it will either be for Crooks, or Watmore and right now he'll have to settle for minutes from the bench.

I'd be interested to know what CW thought if Hernandez' role in the OG, thought he was slow getting across before the ball defected off him. Maybe Payero will get a chance instead of Hernandez, because it looks like Wilder is protecting him from 90 minutes football when he can.

I’m not sure how he can get in the team at the moment??

can’t see wilder not playing Tav. Maybe play Crooks deeper in place of Howson? Or could Payero play the deeper role, like Norwood at Sheff Utd?

or could he play as a number 10 just off a striker?

More likely he’ll be warming the bench I think
Well I'm a big Tav fan, but the pressure is on Tav to show better end product as Payero will get opportunities from the bench in the next 2 matches. If Payero shows end product and Tav continues to get his decisions wrong then he could be benched. It's all good though, this is what competition for places is about.

I would also say that Siliki seems to not be putting pressure on the 3 midfielders for their spots, I think he will be returning to France in 4 weeks, making space for a CDM to come in.

Crooks is first name on the team sheet for me, he was already up there for Warnock, but with Wilder he's come on leaps and bounds.

I think Tav is under-performing, but not in work rate, but maybe in end product/goals/chances created, which is what Payero should be eyeing up, once fit.

I think with no signings and maybe Spence back this would be our strongest line up?

I've been impressed with Crooks, and his contributions further up the pitch, but if he could make that position his own by January he may save us a signing allowing more funds for another striker or a proper number 1.

Harsh on Bamba, Peltier, Jones and Howson on their recent performances, but I didn't see any of them as first teamers at the start of the season, but Howson has been very good recently, but you would think age will catch up with him at some point..

I think for keeper you could pick any really, I went for Daniels as he seems to have become Wilder's number 1. We need a like for like for Watmore on the the bench as soon as we can manage it, his energy and closing is really important to how we play now.

I assume that Hernandez and JLS may well be returned in January, Browne and Uche loaned out. I also presume that Woods usage will be based on the CB injury situation in January, he'll either be cover once Wilder has had a good look at him, or loaned out again.

........................................Daniels.......................................

......................Dijksteel.........Fry............McNair...................

Spence............................Crooks...................................Bola

........................Payero...........................Tavernier................

.................................Sporar.........Watmore........................

That midfield would get ran ragged.

from what I've seen of Payero I'd go as far to say he's definitely going to be top class and it won't be too long before he starts attracting EPL suitors.

It's pretty straight forward... If Payero is in full flow then Tav is out.

Football is about more than running around.
