Middlesbrough v Bournemouth Allowed 1000 fans

Johnny, if there was a lockdown, you state that the Boro could potentially refuse to send out the tickets to people in the lockdown postcode areas but hope they don’t. You appear to state that you hope Boro would still issue tickets to people in an area of lockdown. People in those areas would be potential spreaders to an area not in lockdown. You state you are responsible in your actions. The trouble is you would not know if you had the virus or not. Sorry if you took offence, but in my eyes putting your desires before the best interests of fellow human beings is selfish. You even state you are more important, yes that is selfish. I get we are all selfish to a degree, but to risk others for a game of footy you can watch anyway. It is clear to all that social interaction and travel help keep the pandemic alive and kicking and inadvertently affecting the lives of us all. The sooner everyone keeps to the rules the better. I prefer to put the health and safety of myself and others before a game of footy. If my thoughts offend you, so be it. I hope you did not criticise Dominic Cummings in that case btw.

‘You don’t know if you have the virus or not’

you could apply that to every single fan on go attends

Jonny is staying he’ll follow the guidelines so I don’t see what the problem is here

My issue Gaz is about the risk of transmission from one area to another where the virus is considered to be more prevelant, to such a degree, that restrictions are in place. I am missing out like many are and pray for things to get back to normal asap. The more we all sacrifice now, the sooner that will hopefully be. My issue is not directly with Johnny himself it is the fact that when restrictions are in place and people travel around to other areas, that increases the risks of the virus being spread. I understand that the younger you are the less at risk you feel for you and some of your loved ones, even if you get the virus, but the older you are or the more vulnerable anyone is the risk to others is inadvertently greater. Thats my point, clearly some people look at things personally, I try to look at things not just personally but for others too. It is who I am and if that makes me appear self righteous, so be it.

This situation is ridiculous.

Why is the game going ahead when we're at a serious disadvantage? Arsenal game was called off when Arteta picked it up.

The Arsenal game was called off as clubs hadn’t planned for covid around that time. If A premier league manager was to get it today their match wouldn’t be called off if they had no other positive tests as clubs are prepared now with testing and safety measures. Ridiculous comparison

“I’m trying to get back to normal,”

And that is why the number of cases is shooting up
And the north east is heading for a lock down

as Nichola sturgeon said at the beginning of this if it just feels normal then you are doing something wrong.

Great attitude that mate enjoy your lock down

I will m8, you look after yourself too ;)

I think what the detractors on here have not realised is that I am not being selfish at all, in fact I am doing the opposite.

I am putting myself on the frontline, putting my health and my family's health at risk so that I can test an unproven system that then enables everyone else to go to games........I guess that makes me a pioneer and you can thank me later :)

The thing is when did Neil start to feel ill, who was he in contact with in the days prior to him feeling ill, as per track and trace???

There has been an assumption that the majority of ppl have access to an internet ready device, which isnt unreasonable this day and age. If you dont have a hat, how can you throw it into the ring?

Now a number of people who go to matches who don't have PC's or tablets, don't have smart phones, don't have Sky or any streaming service.

The fact the club have stayed the game will go ahead must mean everything is fine. I am sure they had looked into the things you mentioned already. Of course it will be a worry if early next week players start showing symptoms.

and if that happens then we may have infected the Bournemouth squad too. A squad at the other end of the country. Can you not see past the end of your nose?

I’d find it more concerning to be around people that openly admit to looking after number one.

I love the Boro and have been across the globe to follow them spent thousands doing so but I’m not going on Saturday.

I think the risk is too great not just to me and my family but the whole area.

I hope I’m wrong.

Brighton & Hove Albion had a crowd in the stands weeks ago V chelsea - theres nothing pioneering about it, your just being used as a 'guinea-pig' - and as you have written in your own post, for all the wrong reasons.

the risk isnt the 1000 in the 34,000 seater ground, its an additional 1000 people getting on a bus when they dont need to, a train carriage when its not necessary, 1000 people additional in the town buying sandwiches and pies, cos theres no food or drink at the venue, 1000 people trying to get pre match and post match pints, 1000 people trying to get into the club shop, 1000 people going along windrush, through the subway or over the swing bridge. Then theres the people they will bring them to go into town shopping whilst the match is on, parking up cars and picking up again afterwards, again they will want feeding and watering - the town is already close to the touch paper of another lockdown, the manager has tested positive and was seen circulating around the venue only 48 hours ago, and some loon (not you jonny2773) wants 1000 people from across North Yorkshire/South Durham to all head to the same place at an agreed time for an agreed appointment for an agreed KO.

Carlsberg dont serve a drink called 'Gross Stupidy & Madness'....but if they did.

I will leave my home @ 2pm, it takes 40 mins for me to drive to the stadium. I will park in car park E and walk around to my allocated turnstile whilst doing my upmost to social distance (probably around the North side of the stadium unless instructed otherwise), if im not socially distanced then this will not be my fault and will be due to someone encroaching on my space. On my way to my seat i will visit the loo, it should now be around 2:50pm where i will remain seated until half time when I will attempt to go for a blast on my vape. I will return to my seat and wonder why I even bothered to come and watch this dross, sit for another 45 mins and then leave to return to my car, drive home.

If anyone feels that I am endangering them in some way please let me know how and I will try my best to avoid you.

If this in anyway offends anyone's delicate nature and they would like to discuss this with me then feel to approach me, i'm old enough and ugly enough to chat about it.

Zorro, give it a rest! Think what you like!

You're not going because you don't have a ticket, paint it any way you like, those are the facts. If you don't feel safe then that's your choice, but don't condemn those that don't share your feelings.

Not aimed you mate I just don’t think this is a good idea in a region that will be in lockdown to the north and on a govt watch list itself.

All this coupled with the fact the manager actually has the virus so WE KNOW it has been in the stadium area already.

enjoy but I hope we don’t end up regretting this.

Sorry, Its as if ppl think that i'm being irresponsible, when in fact im taking every precaution possible to make this safe for myself. Im taking less risk going to the match than I would if I was to go to the supermarket!
