Middlesbrough Supporters Forum - Monday

I imagine it's probably more that it's a volunteer group and they have other things going on in their life.

I'd guess somebody at the club has to approve the minutes being released and that's probably a bit of the hold up.

Got to the stadium.

Walked in north stand as usual.

Went to collect my free beverage.

Queues all the way back to the back wall, whilst there’s about 30 staff ‘working’ behind the tills.

Honestly, the lack of training or organisation this place has is laughable.

Taken 20 minutes to be served for a drink.

And this is 30 mins before KO.

Just because it’s a volunteer group doesn’t mean it should not be fit for purpose. Perhaps if Rob took some time away from having a dig at Pontiac.. he could have typed out the entire A4 sheet of notes relating to the meeting. Priorities innit.

I bet there wasn’t a delay in going to the Celtic game or the awards ceremony in London.. for fan engagement.

Didn’t know about it at the time as I didn’t know about them.

Says it all really.

As for nastiness and threats.. I think the chair needs to look a little closer to home and get his own house in order.

You are totally wrong. I didnt go to Celtic or any awards ceremony.

Surely the MSF is independent of the club and as such there would be no need for approval from anyone to do with the club?
Everyone around the table has to approve supporters and club officials alike. A delay could be because one of us is on holiday or working away etc. Or it could that someone has imparted technical info.

If MSF are going to insist everyone has to approve the minutes (which as others have mentioned isn't actually required) then surely you could document the process - eg. minutes will be available within x days of the meeting and members have y days to object otherwise they are taken as being correct and are published.

Yes. I had to walk along the concourse on Saturday and the stand near GRFZ was very quiet. Obviously the same for the outlet at the other end. Maybe there could be staff advising people as at Bristol City or be aware and move to where is least crowded.

Or just be patient for a week. Surely it isnt that long.
Last meeting no one seemed to look at the minutes.

Rob it’s not always a week is it? One of the issues levelled at MSF is transparency so getting the minutes out quickly would be one way of answering it.

How do you know no one looked at the minutes?

MSF chair went to Celtic and an awards ceremony in London for fan engagement.

As for nastiness I think that making fans out to be racist is a pretty nasty thing to do and you seemed more than happy with borolads threat to me.. even trying to justify it!

Or just F***ing record the meetings and put it out. I don’t understand what MSF & MFC’s problem with being transparent is.
It's the sort of thing that the MSF should be insisting on being a full transcript or live recording. Transparency between the club and fans is important and anything that doesn't go in the minutes because it's not approved by the club defeats the point. Also, minutes are generally a really rubbish form of information for anyone that wasn't there. The full transcript or recording captures all the information, not just the high level summary.

The only reason not to have a full recording is to dodge any accountability.

How often are the minutes adjusted and how much of them are changed or amended or deleted?
If it is a lot then that would suggest either things are being hidden or the minute taker is making loads of errors and needs changing.

In reply to Scrug - As I have said many times - no one is going to sit around a table and feel uninhibited with what they are going to say if everything is recorded for people to rip apart word by word afterwards. And don't tell me people wouldn't be tempted. It is really sad to say this but is unfortunately true. And remember this a supporters forum it is not a council meeting or houses of parliament.

How do you know no one looked at the minutes? I am exaggerating - but there was no thread on here with a countdown to publication. And afterwards the debate started long afterwards.
They will be out tomorrow - surely that will be OK won't it? I was under the impression when meetings weren't ratified by everyone that they were not published until after the next meeting. First point on the agenda, are the minutes of the last meeting a fair and true record?? Then they are available. Maybe I am wrong but that is how I thought it usually happened. MSF wanted to make sure minutes were out more promptly than that but if someone is ill, on holiday or otherwise absent then it can be best to wait, especially if you do want to check something with them. For me it would be worst to publish something really inaccurate and then have to correct it. What happens is the first version is remembered the correction never has the same impact.
