Middlesbrough FC Women

So what? All I'm saying is I don't want any financial distraction from boros mens team going up. It's not difficult to understand

It's not difficult to understand why you don't want it, yes.

Sexism.

42 of the current 44 teams in the Premier League and Championship now have women's teams and you've just tried to claim with a straight face that supporting them has cost clubs promotion.

Burnley and Sheffield United both have women's teams, it must have really messed up their chances.

I guarantee that Coventry and Hull will officially affiliate with their local women's teams in due course too.

Look it's not difficult. If we want to buy a player for say 2m and we can't because they wany 2.3m and weve already committed 300k to buy a female footballer. That's what I don't want. I support boro mens team and couldny care less about the womens team. Not sexism. I just support who. I support

I dont understand why all womens teams seemingly have to exist as an extension of an established mens team - and like it or not up to this point thats exactly what MFC are. Surely a completely distinct organisation would be true independence and equal representation. What was wrong with how it was? Same name, presumable some informal affiliation and support. How does this potentially effect the club finances? Will the income from the mens team effectively subsidise the womens team, what if their was a law suit or other financial penalty on the womens team - could that impact the original club?

It feels a bit like a parent child relationship and i dont think effectively incorporating the womens team promotes true equality in the long term as at this moment in time no one can credibly blame parity between the sports (as in male v female entities) in terms of commercial, ability or public interest. Womens international competitions are different to week in week out support. Not against womens football but dont see how it cant develop independently or that women teams should be affiliated with the mens.

That would be the second highest transfer fee in the history of women's football, so you've got a very warped understanding if you think that would be spent in the 4th tier of women's football.

It's probably against the rules on here but dear me. You find offence in everything. Maybe you should seek help

Where have I made a plea for others? My concern isn’t fake you’re just a complete dinosaur in your attitude towards the women’s team.
"Sorry I just don’t buy what he’s selling. An attempt at masking sexism and portraying it as concern for club finances, a distraction and “I support the men’s team” b8llocks."
If that's not pleading for help I don't know what is.

You really are coming across as a bit daft.

Let me ask you this, if we fail to finish in the top 6 this season will you be blaming it on the fact we have joined with the women’s side? All that wasted money on the women?

Im all for this. Would be great to see a boro team in the WSL. Where will they play? Will we have a transfer kitty? Will we sign jordan nobbs?

And that argument is also irrelevant.

It was your argument?

We're not going to miss out on any signings because we now have an affiliated women's team.

Almost every single club we'd be competing with for signings also has an affiliated women's team.

It's a strawman complaint.

Sorry, you're coming across even dafter. You're so absorbed in your self righteousness that you can't see another point of view and have to give it a name that you think will give you support
