Middlesbrough duo set to leave club...

He scored a cracking goal but in a couple of other games he put two shots wide/over the bar when practically on the goal line, that's what happens with strikers, they live, or die by their goals, misses

My point is about his commitment, which he didn't show anything at all

I think NW just wanted rid of both him & Brit but chose to stay & say positive things about them both, he won't be upset that Fletcher is moving on

I think the fact he didn't play last game looks like he is on his way and also that we have written off this season.
Am guessing that the difference between his present wage and what we will offer is vast, a bit like with George Friend.
But Hayden Coulson having come on in the last 2 games do you think that implies that Warnock is taking a closer look at him.

Friend wasn't offered more with Birmingham but was offered a two year deal. He also was offered more money to go play in Italy and turned that down. George just wanted to play as much as he could for as long as possible.

It telling that clubs havent come in for either Fletcher or Britt whilst they were under contract, which speaks to how exorbitant their salaries are.

Not sure how much Fletcher is earning, but I think Britt is earning around £50k a month - that, plus his transfer fee spells a huge overall cost, even for a PL club, never mind one at this level.

Not sure where I stand on these two - I think it's probably a negative move.

For me one of the biggest issues this season has been the size of the squad. It's likely if both stayed they wouldn't be first choice, but will we really bring in two better squad players for less money? I guess with Fletcher the answer is probably yes but not sure about Coulson.

That said, there must be some interest in Coulson, why else would he have been involved in the last two games? :ROFLMAO:

according to a site I use Britt is 35k and Fletcher 10k. That's basic without goal, appearance, win bonuses. I would think that both are a bit more than that if the truth be told. 40K and 18k maybe?

Britt will struggle to get half of that Fletcher might drop a bit

I think £50k is accurate and I was surprised when I found out too.

The signing of Fletcher made no sense at the time so this isnt hindsight, we'd altready bought Gestede and Bamford in the Prem and had signed Braithwaite and Britt, why did we need to sign a 5th striker for £7 million, well dodgy!

And at inflated fee as well allegedly

Monk, it has been alleged, failed to inform Middlesbrough of the valuations placed on them by their clubs and therefore allowed the club to pay inflated fees.

It has also been suggested that he ‘passed on confidential information to Featherstone, which enabled the agent to increase his commission’.

There is no suggestion of wrongdoing on the part of any of the players of their clubs and all the allegations have been denied by Monk’s lawyers, Mills & Reeve.

Try a week rather than a month!!! (Astonishing though it is).

To think at one point we had Braithwaite 9mil / Britt 15mil / Fletcher 7mil / Rudy 6mil and Bamford 6mil..... All at the club at the same time. Madness spending😕

5 CFs on a fortune in wages and transfer fees. We played with one up top.... Baffling recruitment.

Pretty much given them all away apart from Paddy. A stunning business model.

Last season Fletcher was fit and confident. He had a decent season and after Warnock's arrival, he hit a purple patch in performance and goals - he was a real threat to the opposition.

After recovering from the injury, he needed a run of games to get that match sharpness back, but got injured again and has had bits and pieces since. It's difficult to perform at any level without a decent level of match fitness, let alone in the highly competitive Championship.

If he has an injury free run and a good preseaon, I think someone will be getting a decent player.

I always wanted us to keep Fletcher until recently, but won't lose any sleep when he goes. There's better value about. It's not like we are losing Harry Kane or even Paddy Bamford!
