Middle class coke heads...

Kit Malthouse can be a **** and say something sensible at the same time. This is such an occasion.

How do you stop someone doing a line just before they get in the stadium and subsequently acing like a total knobhead when in? This is an enormous problem, and bar drug testing at the turnstiles and stewarding/policing every toilet and having cameras covering every inch of the ground how can this be stopped? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm not well versed in cocaine consumption but doesn't the effects only last 15-30 minutes? If there were proper checks at the gate which meant it wasn't being taken in the stadium then all you have to worry about is the 1st 15-30 minutes because nobody would be doing it inside.

I know the chances of preventing all of it getting in the stadium are pretty thin but even some rigorous spot checks from police when entering might deter enough people to think twice. Must be fairly easy for away fans where the concentration is likely to be higher so there are fewer entrances to cover. It's probably fairly easy to profile as well, you don't have to check everyone.

Cocaine mixed with alcohol causes the liver to make a by product that extends the effects of alcohol and cocaine.. I can’t remember what it is called, but it’s extremely damaging even when compared to cocaine and alcohol separately.

I genuinely think that long queues at bars that sell chronically overpriced pish poor larger play a part in the increase of cocaine at football matches… no one is asred tho!

It’s easy to target who to search, just look for the d1ckheads wearing knock off stone island.

At Fulham a few seasons back I remember the sniffer dogs having a field day on the turnstiles. Loads of young lads were getting pulled over by the police.

I've always found it strange people do it in public toilets, and especially ones at football stadiums. They must be some of the most unhygienic places.
You know they're not actually doing it off the toilet, right?

They're using the toilet to keep out of view. They'll just be dipping a key in the bag or whatever.

Effects of Cocaethylene

The effects of cocaethylene in the liver and bloodstream are more salient in those who use both alcohol and cocaine together on a regular basis; however, some of the effects, such as sudden heart attacks or impulsive behaviours, may even occur in occasional users who combine the two drugs.

Some of the effects of the production of cocaethylene include:

  • Increased toxic effects: Cocaethylene is significantly more toxic than cocaine. Laboratory studies suggest that it may have a toxicity level 30 percent higher than cocaine. Once the liver begins producing it, the chemical keeps being released in the system and remains in the body up to three times longer than cocaine, resulting in increased potential for toxic effects. Cocaethylene toxicity may be associated with a number of sudden deaths and cardiovascular events that occur in cocaine users.
  • Increased risk of cardiovascular issues: Cocaethylene increases heart rate and blood pressure even more than cocaine does. In addition, it impairs the ability of the heart muscle to contract. These issues are believed to increase the risk even further for people using only alcohol or cocaine alone and cause significant cardiovascular issues.
  • Increased risk for stroke: Cocaethylene may also result in an increased risk for stroke compared to individuals who only use alcohol or cocaine.
  • Increased potential for liver damage: Because of its significant toxicity, the presence of cocaethylene in the liver will add to the potential to develop liver damage compared to the use of alcohol or cocaine alone.
  • Greater perceived effects of both drugs: Cocaethylene blocks the reuptake of dopamine in the brain, producing greater euphoric effects for both cocaine and alcohol and also increasing the potential that an individual will continue to abuse both drugs.
  • Longer method of action: Cocaethylene has a greater half-life than cocaine; therefore, it is more slowly eliminated than cocaine. This results in potentially more serious effects as it remains in the system longer.
  • Increased alcohol consumption: A number of studies suggest that the presence of cocaethylene may actually result in increased alcohol consumption. Individuals who use cocaine and alcohol together often binge drink. Chronic binge drinking is associated with a number of issues, including liver damage, cardiovascular issues, nerve damage, alcohol poisoning, poor judgment, and a quicker development of severe alcohol dependence.
  • Increased impulsivity: Cocaethylene’s affinity to increase both dopamine and serotonin levels in the brain increases the risk that an individual will engage in more impulsive behaviours, including potential violence.
  • Potential for death: The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) has suggested that alcohol and cocaine may be the most common two-drug combination that results in fatalities.

I'm glad the authorities are finally starting to do something about it. Cocaine use and associated anti social behaviour has been long discussed on here, particularly for those at away games. If they without warning unleash the sniffer dogs at our next away game then it'll be snowing in the away end with the amount of people trying to chuck their marching powder away.

Same in the North Stand
I’ve sat north and south, never noticed it in the north but in the south stand it’s blatant, go for a pee a few mins before half time and there’d be half a doesen lads in there sniffing it off the back of their hands while p1ss1ng in the urinals.

You should see the queues for the stalls at half time or the young lads running out every 10 minutes.....
