And what a snip, John Neal went to Cardiff & gave them what they paid for him, £72k

Reading through some my Boro books & came across MB, his initial burst in to our team was excellent, he went on record after his carer was finished in saying that he was amazed the talent there was at Ayresome Park when he arrived

The start of his Boro career was as good as any striker we've had, George Camsell apart, even then

He scored on his debut away to Man Utd, drew a blank on his home debut v Norwich, Terry Cochranes debut, the next 5 games he scored in 4 of them, then 2 games he drew a blank only to score 4 v Chelsea, 14 goals in 31 games, great striker

I posted about him before but it cheers me up no end reading about his time here & his goals, how good was he & in his latter years too, great professional

He's one ex player I would love to see at former player reunions but as far as I'm aware he's never been approached

67 games, 4 as sub, scoring 24 goals between 1978 - 81

I loved Micky Burns, one of my favourite ever Boro strikers. I am amazed if he has never been invited to a reunion event. He was unreal in that Chelsea game. On the drive home we were all bouncing and work on the Monday was enjoyable as a colleague was a Chelsea fan. 😁

One of the final reunions I attended was 79-81, his time & he wasn't there, I'm sure he'll have been asked to some over the years TBH
