So all those saying what difference does it make they are all professionals etc well the FA / premier league seem to think it’s an issue.

Michael Oliver the nations top ref is not allowed to ref sunlun games.

“Oliver confirmed that he is not allowed to officiate any Newcastle or Sunderland games for obvious reasons.

However, he also revealed that he can't officiate the games of any teams around Newcastle in the Premier League table during the final couple of months of the season.“

You’re obsessed mate grow up.

Not really sure you needed to start another thread having made exactly the same point in the female referee thread?

Anyway you appear to be questioning the woman’s professional integrity which is pretty cheap.
I’m highlighting if the FA seen it unwise for the best ref in the country to ref a rival or even games linked to them ( which I never knew was an official thing) then I’m staggered they’d put a novice ref in this position especially after last games controversy.

That’s all.

Not sure for the insults or abuse either.

I’m highlight it’s an fa directive.

It makes sense doesn't it? I'm sure 99% of refs would be professional regardless, but it's not like corruption is unheard of in the game is it?

Also there is such a thing as unconscious bias.

Not to mention why put officials in a position where their integrity could be questioned if you don't have to? By managers, players or fans?

Interesting, but not surprising, that it's different rules for the premier League and the rest of the league. Because of course the prem is far more important 🙄

Don't think I've heard any suggestion the ref yesterday was anything other impartial. But if she'd made a massive mistake (in good faith) that cost us the game, then inevitably those accusations would be made however unfair. Why make it a potential issue if you don't have to?

You will notice Michael Oliver makes no mention of being unable referee Boro matches. I'd like to see some official clarification of this rivalry 'rule' if there is such a thing.

Did Clattenberg referee Sunderland games? 🤔🤔

Refs have to declare which team they support, but would anticipate that the level of scrutiny they are under they wouldn't want to jeopardize their jobs with mad, biased decisions.

It will be a convention rather than a rule, based on who they support and not necessarily their geographic origin.

It won't be judging the integrity of the referee. It will be in place to protect the match official from judgements, presumptions and unfair press coverage if they were to make an error which could be perceived as favour/disfavour.

You need to give up on their one, I think most on here looked at yesterday’s thread and treated it with the contempt it deserved (I was going to say it should be renamed the Mysogny & Childishness thread) and didn’t bother replying. You have now started a similar thread digging yourself a bigger hole.

I am not throwing any “abuse” at you. It is a lazy charge to throw around when you are challenged on your train of thought.
