Michael Olise to Chelsea

What feels like Chelseas 200th signing this summer, he's about to sign for them for a measly £35 mill, Chelsea activated a release clause. That's a steal isn't it? But what possess players after player to sign for them when they probably will be on the bench alot baffles me, same with Lavia.

Deal collapsed and he's signed a new deal with Palace, and Palace are taking Chelsea to court over their approach to signing Olise.
Knows his own mind Olise so can imagine playing time was important to him. He chose France U21's over England U21's as he felt loyal to France after they had offered him International football at U18 level when England had not been interested.

Fair play to the lad

I'm sure he will be well compensated with his new contract, but either way its refreshing to see a 'football' decision made by a player, especially a young one.

I'll be suprised if Chelsea are punished for their approach for him. Always has happened. I remember how Merson described the Villa players tapping him up on behalf of their boss when he was with England.

They’re moving on to Brennan Johnson now.

Seems like the ‘top’ teams in the premier league are snapping up the best of the rest after years of going abroad for their big transfers.

But remember Liverpool settled with Middlesbrough out of court over Ziege - multi millions we believe. Wouldn't this be a similar scenario - triggering a confidential clause in a contract.

You can't stop tapping up. Players, clubs and agents will be nattering to one another like a fishwives convention all through the season.

But when confidential release clauses etc get mysteriously triggered that's a different story.

How did Wolves trigger Traores clause? Take it it was a release clause and not a confidential homesick one?

In a strange turn of events Olise deleted his entire content from his instagram and uploaded just one photo, of him signing his new deal at PalaceScreenshot_20230818-133352_Instagram.jpg
