He was having a terrible time. Time after time he told us to trust in him and he had full belief in his players they could turn it round, he gets his message across in a calm manner and the players stuck with him and they’ve played out of their skins for the last few weeks.

I believed it before and I definetly believe it now. We have a very special manager managing our football club. What a lovely fella too.

But even you were doubting him a few weeks ago?

I think the majority of us were doubting him a few weeks ago. But he’s proving us wrong. Even Jones after the game was talking about trusting the process. He is instilling a mind set in the players and it’s paying off. Let’s just enjoy being boro fans again!

I wasn’t like. Questioned a few decisions early on playing too many new signings at once.I even started a thread saying stop with the Carrick out threads. Don’t make stuff up
No. Im certainly not making stuff up and also this isn't the time to trawl back through comments from last month but I recall a few negative comments from you about him which were surprising given you are normally very positive. Think you made a comment that he looked like a dead man walking - a surprising thing for you to say.

Anyway it's not important now. He's proved to the doubters that he is a special manager and am delighted for him after a very challenging start.

I think used the words broken man, not dead man walking. I never called for him to be gone once. And you can go through every post. I doubted a few decisions we all did. It was a horrendous start. But as the thread is about him turning it around just leave it at that. He’s a brilliant manager and now has shown he can turn things round after a really difficult patch. Lucky to have someone who remains calm

Players have rallied significantly. We do have a really good manager and patience has paid off. Exactly we were all worried - but needlessly so.

Delighted for Carrick. He’s clearly a great bloke and perfect for Boro. Plenty of fans were beginning to get grumpy with him and the players.

What has impressed me is how he has managed a tough spell. He kept calm, stuck by the players and is now getting the performances and results back.

Don’t think footballers should be role models for kids. Yes they have the eyes of the world on them but in a high pressure environment it’s too much.

Managers however, should be role models. They hold that position of authority. How Carrick carries himself, what and how he says it. I tell my lad to just watch him and how would you feel if he was your boss, how he gets his message across. He’s a fantastic ambassador for this football club. Results will fluctuate, but he remains the same. To me that’s a real sign of strength and confidence.

He’ll be a success at whatever he chooses to do.
