Michael carrick into 6/1 second fav

I don't care what the odds say about Carrick. I don't believe for one second we will take a punt on him, after the last 5 failures.

Carrick would be far too much of a gamble.

Bookies obviously mopping up.
Agree, same with Edwards really. As we seen with Wilder, the odds don't generally mean a lot, as only takes a relatively small amount to shift them.

It took a rookie to get us up last time , the experience of pulis and Wilder failed . Our best coaches have been rookies . I think carrack would go down better than anyone mentioned. Hopefully he’s got it in him to manage , and hopefully he an get our midfield ticking .

Carrick's our man according to reliable source on oneBoro, Lurker gets alot right, he's been told it's Carrick

Nothing itk but my theory is why has carrick gained so much attention when there is no obvious link.

This to me suggests there’s something in this.

The odds are determined by what people bet on each candidate.. not from inside knowledge.

If the odds tumble, a lot of people (half of my mates included) look and go 'something must be happening' and jump on the bet.. snowball effect, odds tumble.

It only takes a handful of punters to bet in a small window for the bookies to think 'someone must know something' and slash the odds. It's a really small market too.. so a small number of bets is a big deal to the bookies.

I get that I’m saying it’s an unusual name to be getting so much traction.

I guess we’ll all find out soon

I'm largely underwhelmed by most of the candidates, but will get behind the decision and keep everything crossed that we can pick up some momentum.

Aitor was a left field 'what the hell' choice, although he was Jose's number 2 for a number of years so carried a little whack.

Are we talking about the ex-player Michael Carrick? I am kind of hoping it's some Spanish Migual Carrick that has been Pep's understudy for a few years. The Michael Carrick I think you all mean could be a total cluster-fcuk.

I've no idea whether Carrick is a great coach, motivator, tactician, organiser. None of us do really.
I'd have more confidence in him than Edwards who has such wafer thin experience and credibility.
I'd probably be more excited by a foreign appointment, but concerned they would be scapegoated quickly if required.

Cooper signing a new contract. will accelerate the appointment now I think, whoever it is.
Good luck to whoever gets the job, they're going to need it, together with our support.

Would Carrick have the same pull as Robson did?
Even though we havent that money anymore, would he persuade senior quality internationals to come to Boro?
Can't see why not? He's obviously a respected name in the game due to his playing career where he helped to win lots of trophies.
I'd be interested to see who he brought with him mind on his coaching staff.

If he comes I'd like him to have an experienced older head to lean on as his assistant, somebody mentioned Mike Phelan which seems a good shout, whether he'd want to come is a different matter I suppose.

Suppose with Phelan it's whether he harbours ambition to be a manager rather than coach, or he thinks the likes of Boro would be a step down. Definitely wouldn't say no to him being Carrick's No 2.
