MFC's SC's are very good value.

If fans are receiving a free drink and going to every home game - yes good value for a full priced adult and even better value for young adults and over 65s.

We had around 3,300 unsold home tickets against Reading, probably not as high a figure as most people would think so now running at around 88% capacity for home fans.

For next season it might be useful to extend the Family Zone if its possible or create another zone with the family deal.

A fair comparison is a theatre ticket to see a decent band or live theatre show say at Middlesbrough Little Theatre or Billingham Forum. Last time I looked it was around £26 or £25 for concessions. On that basis MFC is cheaper.

Sunderland is probably a fair comparison too, similar area, similiar facilities, but have they invested as much in their squad? No free drink there.
Mbro theatre shows tend to be 14-20 quid

So we have some of the most expensive ST in the divison and the most expensive (cheapest) adult walk ups.
Poor for such a low income area.

Barnsley could be playing Championship football next season .. look at their kids prices in all sections of the stadium

Quite a hike in prices mind once early bird has passed

Well done Barnsley 👏

If i'm being objective though, we're not comparing apples with apples. Barnsley don't have the same running costs that we do. Compare us to Sunderland, Derby or Norwich....we still come out bottom.

Id love to see us do a season with cheaper tickets across the board for adults, take a gamble on it and see how it goes, Sunderland have cheap tickets and fill the ground most weeks but they dont lose that much revenue from it as the fans are buying programmes, pints, coffess, cokes, burgers, sweets and chocolates which brings the average spend back up. The revenue from the club shop increases with higher footfall as more people would be buying kits, hats scarves etc (though we would need to have stock). Would be nice if we looked at the bigger picture and not just ticket revenue.

Derby are in a different division to us and Sunderland isn’t really a like for like comparison given their stadium can hold about 15,000 more than anyone else in the division.

Quick google on Norwich, our cheapest adult ST renewals are in North, South, GRFZ, North West and South West corners - £480. Their cheapest is £534 and that is a price freeze from last season.

They haven't filled their ground once this season have they? A minimum of 5k empty seats for every match, and over 10k empty seats on average. I appreciate some of that will be for segregation, but not 5k.

But filling the ground isn't important or special is it?

We have cheap tickets as EB renewals on SC's.
The issue is the ridiculous premium for Match tickets over SC.

North Stand renewal in 2006-07 (after Eindhoven) £390
2022-23 current season was £450.
2023-24 next season will be £480.

So a £60 increase across 22 seasons to date.
Then you add in a Free Drink at 23 matches .
The Season Cards are not too expensive, they are cheap.
The concessions are already incredibly cheap, especially for kids.

The Match tickets are very much the problem.
While flying, they sell some of the empty seats at those prices, yet still have thousands empty; when not we sell none.

As I've said, the GRFZ makes it affordable for a parent to take their child to a game but it doesn't benefit teenagers who are wanting to buy season tickets with their mates.

£186 is too much for a teenager who is still at school. Yes, they could always go with their parent but there will be plenty of 14/15 year olds who would prefer to attend with their mates..

£186 is £8.09 per championship game or £9.79 per PL game.
I understand non working families and any families on low income might find this difficult, but there are some ways an adult can purchase interest free via credit cardetc. I appreciate it isn't an option for some, but for lots of families, they could easily afford this even if it was agreed as an early birthday or christmas present, pocket money, or in return for household chores etc. Personally, I think it is a terrific price from MFC.

If you look at other club's pricing, many of them are tying to make it as cheap as possible for juniors, and rightly so, as they're the future.

I recently decided to have a look at Ipswich's pricing, as I've noticed they're managing to average higher crowds than us in League One. They have an U19 price which is £6 per game and U12 which is £3. Not sure what their ST pricing is like but I'd hazard a guess to say their junior STs will be dirt cheap if you consider how cheap their junior walk-up prices are.

I think this would be a good a pricing scheme for the club to trail......

- Keep it at £186 for U18's and offer a 10% discount for students.

- Introduce an U16 price at £60.

- Keep the GRFZ open and make it £480 for an adult and an U14.

Second highest prices in the league aren’t they in one of the most deprived areas in the country.

Good value compared to what, certainly not the majority of the league, check the Mackems prices out for a start.

Sunderland do decent deals but then again you have to watch Sunderland play every other week.

Sunderland don’t fill their ground most weeks. They haven’t filled it for a long time. Part of it (the Premier Concourse) isn’t even open this season.

That’s mainly as it’s so big and doesn’t discredit their ticketing policy or their attendances, but let’s get our facts right.

The fact your quoting isn’t really the point, their ground looks full every week even if there are 5k empty seats that’s still 90% of capacity, I’d much prefer the Riverside to be as full as that.

They've averaged 38k this season in a 48k capacity stadium so they fill about 80% of their seats and that includes all their discounts and ticket deals.

We've filled (an average) of 78% of our seats this season so not a massive difference in terms of empty seats.
