Gary, a well-known face in the north-east football community having played for the likes of Darlington, Whitby Town and Spennymoor Town, passed away in June last year from a suspected heart attack, aged just 45.
Since being awarded charity status in 2020, the Red Sky Foundation have already raised well over half a million pounds to support the children's heart units at James Cook, Newcastle Freeman and Sunderland Royal hospitals, as well as pay for the installation of life-saving defibrillators in various public venues in the region.

Academy youngster Harry Ryan is taking on this year's Junior Great North Run for a worthy cause.
