Fact File:

Darragh Lenihan was born in Meath in 1994

A versatile central defender, he signed for Blackburn Rovers as a 17-year-old after playing with Irish youth side Belvedere.

He joined Burton Albion on loan in 2014 and made his EFL debut against Stevenage in October.

He scored his first career goal in January 2015 against Portsmouth before being recalled by Blackburn later that season.

Darragh made his Blackburn debut in April 2015 – coming on as a sub against Millwall at Ewood Park – and followed that by making his first start against Huddersfield the following weekend.

Blackburn were relegated in 2016, but Darragh picked up a League One promotion winners medal in 2017.

Darragh has represented his country at all levels from U17 and made his senior debut in 2018 against the USA.

He has been a mainstay of the Blackburn side since their return to the Championship and was named club captain for the 2021/22 season.

Blackburn announced his departure in June 2022, just days after he returned to the Republic of Ireland side for the first time in four years, against Ukraine in the Nations League.

Darragh joined Boro on 24 June 2022.

Beep test is the thing of nightmares.

Mad that Gazza had the best beep test score of the England squad before Euro 96.
