Merseyside Derby

I think VAR is looking too closely at the offsides. I don’t think they can judge that to be offside and should be giving the benefit of the doubt to the offensive teams. What are the margins as that must have been millimetres at best. It’s just ruining the game.

Funny.

Clearly shouldn't be offside, but I'm so glad it was.
Keeps the Premier League interesting.

It's his shirt sleeve that's offside. Which is ridiculous but them's the rules. Black & white. Quite clearly he's a good micrometre or two ahead of the Everton players.

Anyone not shouting from the rooftops to get rid of VAR after the farcical decisions last season has nothing to complain about.

The line they are showing for the offside that shows him level isn’t even straight it clearly favours mane and if they showed a straight line parallel to the box line he would look further offside that the image they are using

How can you say its his cuff. Surely there has to be a margin of error of at least 2mm anyway with the ball kick. Nonsense decision.

If that happened to us can you imagine how gutted we would be. Last minute winner against your local rivals who have maximum points?!

For my two penneth, that should stand.

My point being you can only be offside with a part of your body that can legally score. I.e. not a hand. Unless I'm wrong.

Which as I said has been moved from the the top of the arm to pretty much the sleeve, meaning you can not score with part of your arm so they no longer draw the line from the armpit. They draw it from outside of the sleeve which is the furthest part forward of Mane's.

Didn't Liverpool benefit quite a few times last season via VAR
VAR should not play any part in football other than call out cheats in the game, IMHO mind

Ah right I follow still not offside though

I mean, in the photo above the outside of his arm looks further forward than the Everton players. I can see how they came to the decision as close as it is.

I say this as someone who likes Liverpool a lot.

It's worth it just to see Liverpool fans melting down. Its not like they haven't had numerous close decisions with VAR go for them. It's 'ok' then🤔

The whole thing just needs scapping. It's simply not fit for purpose. It's not actually the technology it's still the clowns using it and more so the rules they've 'tweaked' to apparently make it easier. Does anyone remember when we all thought that every decision would be correct and we'd have nothing to talk about😂?

Thank god they ain't bringing it into the EFL. It's effectively ruining top flight football.
