Memories of Posters

Nedkat is still going strong and posts on a few navy submariner Facebook groups I’m on… he pops in here frequently…

one poster I remember got outed on some kinky sex meet group.. I won’t post his full name as it used to get people banned as I think he had a meltdown and it all got a bit nasty…. Anyone else remember that story?
 
Pre social media the board was like a drug and there were some of us who spent far too much time on there. It was far more of a community back then. I have had the pleasure of meeting some great guys and gals over the years. How on earth has this thread got to page 8 without a mention of Vinny or MarlonD? The old board was like a soap opera with so many things going on. We had affairs, marriage, babies, fights, we raised a lot of money for charity and sadly we had deaths. I miss them days but have so many happy memories

Cesur the resident mackem who was banned and came back many times. I’m terrible at remembering trolls usernames. Think he was Gates (someone mentioned above).

boroboy75 I seem to remember being a bit of a character and always giving Rob grief about something or other. Think he had a few usernames. Vinny may have been one?

Capio. Nut case but good entertainment.

There was a lot of rivalries and bickering. Nothing changes.

The Boro Bliss thing was just weird from start to finish. In fact, did all that really happen?!
 
I remember Ponce and Lisbon Legend banging on for what felt like years about who had the best watch.

Was there not a murdered amongst our ranks at one point too? And didn't David Shayler used to post though can't remember his username.

@WeeGord, I know Pounce very well, grow up with his unlces, I was best man for one of em , infact I was the last best man at Ayresome Park, so knew Ponce as a young lad growing up, who went to games with all the family, cousins, uncles, grandad etc
On the day of our european final me & his uncles went to Eidenhoven, I was the only one without a ticket, Ponce met us in one of the bars, also without a ticket, walking to the ground still ticketless & unable to buy one I met my younger brother, as arranged outside the ground, about 10 minutes before kickoff, both very emotional about what was ahead, he then left us to go in the ground i noticed his mate walked past him who came over to me asking if I had a ticket, I said no, he then gave me his ticket, I told him my mate, Ponce didnt have a ticket, he said to his mate, give him your ticket, which he did, we then ran in to the ground & within minutes the match kicked off

The lad who gave me the ticket even refused to take money off me because of who my brother was, if your reading this Dave, I am forever gratefull to you & your mate

I always liked Ponce and always took his dafter posts with a pinch of salt and took a lot of then as tongue in cheek. A nice lad with a sense of humour.

Lovely story by the way @Erimus74 and IIRC didn't he buy a season ticket to pass out to different less well off people each match once upon a time?
