New members are being sought to join a body helping to shape the future direction of one of the region’s leading entertainment venues.

Middlesbrough’s historic Town Hall (MTH) is an ambitious venue that showcases high-profile performing arts, works alongside diverse communities and supports artists to grow and develop.

The venue recently celebrated retaining its status as a National Portfolio Organisation and works with national, regional, and hyper-local partners to create the right environment for people to experience, connect, create and play.

The Town Hall is a founding member of Middlesbrough Cultural Partnership, the Local Education Partnership and the Youth Voice Partnership and has a stated aim of making Middlesbrough the most creative town in the UK.

Following a major capital development programme with investment of over £7 million in 2018, the Town Hall is firmly established as a driving force in the development of culture in the town and across the Tees Valley.

The venue is a leading focal point for accessible music making, and has worked with national organisations including Dance City, the Sage Gateshead, Opera North, and Music in Secondary Schools Trust.

Examples of next year’s programme include a performing arts and theatre school programme, a schools engagement programme, a musical inclusion programme led by Musinc and much more.

Vacancies have now arisen for two new members of the MTH Oversight Board which ensures that the venue delivers its mission within its resources by setting strategy, agreeing business plans and guiding the staff team.
The deadline for applications is Saturday, December 10.
