Mejias gone , Walker loaned out

If we are bringing in a winger on loan in the next 9 days, some cash will be needed for wages. We have 3 keepers already and 4 forwards.

Don't think it is cash in Walker's case - he recalled Walker from MK Dons and then loaned him out again because he thinks he really needs to play games. He thinks that about several more of the youngsters, including Nathan Wood - but with Wood he is split between needing him as cover for the first team. If Grant Hall proves his fitness over the next week or so than Wood could well get loaned out.

I doubt either were on 'much', but every little will help towards other players signing. We have a tiny squad!

Walker really needs to have an exceptional loan period to prove he has the slightest chance of making it at Championship level.

I fear he will be found wanting

I would like to see Wood stay , as back up for CH , RB , DM .
He is very athletic , and could play as a defensive midfielder IMO , and his height would help on set pieces at both ends .

He'll have to stay surely? We've barely got anyone else!
It would be better for us but Warnock is not so sure he is not holding back his development, which could be better for him and us in the long run. He said about Wood at Brentford, as good as he was, on a couple of occasions he could see things Wood should have done and would have done with more first time experience.
One of the reasons why Warnock doesn't always fill the bench with youth players is that he says they can miss out on the U23 playing and training time while sitting around. It is great experience being part of first team match day but he tries to balance it with the young players who as a result miss out on fitness, training and playing.

Lets hope Hall remains fit til end of season - and one thing he could add is goals at set-pieces - but he would have to be lucky to break into the side. Maybe suspensions could open a door.

Read from their manager that they sent him back. In fact I'm sure they signed another striker as he left.

I agree cash will not be much with Walker, say £1000 per week, but every little helps. The key with Walker is progression and getting first team experience. Its a good sign that Crewe have taken him on. They know him and they are a top half Div 1 team.
