Mediterranean cruise advice .?

Can't help you with sea cruises as not done one myself and don't sell them, however it's also worth considering a river cruise - 7 days down the Danube for example can take you through four countries and you're right next to all the sights, or you can do France, Portugal even Egypt as examples.

Very open market for cruising around the Med. best advice is pick a company that matches your lifestyle and age group.

Once you find which company you want… look at the individual ships as they can be quite different in terms of stuff on board etc.

YouTube is great for research

Never been on a cruise , looking for some recommendations, tips etc for a week round the med,
TUI do some good crusies in the Med

We just got back from a Mystic Isle cruise on Marella Explorer 2 that started in Palma then on to Oristano (Sardinia), Valletta (Malta), Messina (Sicily), Corfu (Greece), Kotor (Montenegro) and then finish in Dubrovnic (Croatia).

Also had 3 days at sea

It was my first time cruising and would recommend (just my opinion and others may disagree) a shore excersion at every port you call at unless you are happy to wander around the town.

I work on cruise ships and there’s a big difference in companies, the ones I’ve seen are Holland America, princess and P&O, we also work on Disney, seaborne and a few others… do your research and look at reviews…

The experience I’ve had on them has put me off wanting to go on holiday on one.. they don’t seem to get long in a port and some of the ports I e visited are nothing to send a post card home from…

I’m guessing they’re horses for courses, my mams done a couple and loves them…

We are going on a P&O one this summer, around France and Spain.

We have been to the Norwegian Fjords before - which were amazing.

Do your research on the ports of call. Which ones are worth looking around, and which ones do you want to arrange an official excursion? Plenty of ports of call are nice enough without needing to book an excursion.

The P&O ships themselves are amazing, and the dining was great. Some of the shows are brilliant. There is always something happening in terms of entertainment. Or there are loads of places just to relax and watch the world go by.

We have used Cruise Kings for a few cruises round the Med and other destinations. Great company helping you pick your cruise and great prices. Last year two cruises round the Med using NCL and MSC. NCL Norwegian Viva was a new cruise ship with great staff, entertainment and food. Cruise Kings offer great drinks packages which offer great savings over normal prices you would pay for the week.

There's a big difference in the offerings between companies, so decide what you're looking for and go with the company that is the best for for you.

Do you want the traditional formal style, or a more relaxed and upbeat experience?

Have a look at virgin. Super ships fab food, reasonable prices. Don't believe what you heard about party boat.

I think Cunard are quite swish, just been on Queen Anne before it left dock yard and looked very nice, saga would be relaxed… I think P&O were a bit cheesy, at least the Australian one I went on was…

I worked on cruise ships in my early twenties for two years in the casinos (Best thing I’ve ever done)

If you are set on Europe I’d say Barcelona and Dubrovnik are the best cruises to get on

But the best in the world is the Carribean, island hoping around Barbados, Jamaica, Antigua etc…

As others have said the line you go in is very important, for your first time P&O is a great shout, very British focused and has a balance of fun and relaxation (Others are heavy on one or the other)

To my mates I always described it as a Tapas holiday, try a few different places, get a feel for it then book an actually holiday at the places you love!

Would recommend everyone tries a cruise but understand it will not be for everyone

Highly recommend Celebrity cruises. Best holiday I've ever had 2 years ago. Looking to go on another this July.

More relaxed 👍
I'd watch a few YouTube vids, there's loads of reviews on there and it will give you a good feel for each company, because they do offer different things.

Trying a Virgin cruise in a couple of weeks, heard some good things about them, but there's loads of offering and different cost brackets.
