McDonalds - I just don't get it

I always prefer the thought of one to the reality.
Let people enjoy them, so long as they accept the consequences of their choices.
McD make their money out of the chips and the drinks which is why they are the only things that get bigger in the large meal. They still make miles more cash from you on a large meal than a standard.

The Signature burgers are pretty good in fairness.
I can't remember when I last bought their desperately bad and poor value fries, or paid through the nose for their dispensed Coke of far inferior quality to packaged.
Little tip, avoid their soggy old fries that have been sat too long especially at quiet periods by insisting on unsalted fries so they have to fry a fresh load.

This may sound daft, but one of my treats each time I go to the states is a whopper in a BK, for some reason they are soooooo much nicer than over here. I know its still rubbish food, but on holiday I dont care much for living an idyllic lifestyle, its about doing stuff you might not ordinarily

I agree with this. I've not been to the states often but I'll always try one of their fast food places: Denny's or the truly horrific in n out burger. Incidentally food in Starbucks is way better in America than here.

Honestly believe the main reason people are rushing to them now is so they can take a picture of it and gloat on social media...
I can believe that. As if there's some sort of pride amongst all of your facebook friends who has had the first McDonalds since it's reopened.

Further to my post yesterday about KFC at Coulby, I see a car overheated and caught on fire whilst queueing for the drive through yesterday afternoon. I'm sure the emergency services were delighted at being called out for that

This is weird? How is it “pretentious” to suggest people should eat healthy? I don’t understand that
It's not pretentious in the slightest to suggest people should eat healthy. It's pretentious to almost look down on people for enjoying eating at places like Macdonalds though, and whether you want to admit it or not, some people do.

I guess they do. To be honest I always feel embarrassed when I go in there. Mainly because I'm always espousing a fit and healthy lifestyle so i really really shouldn't be there.

It definitely has a use for food after a really long drive and you just can't be bothered cooking, or if it's been a crazy day at work and a Happy Meal can take away the stress of cooking late in the day with little ones running about.

I could understand if you had an autistic child and it was part of their routine which had been broken, but personally the thought of sitting in those queues is just silly.

As an aside, what the F is the deal with young lads ordering at drive thru KFC, eating in the carpark and just chucking it away?! They should print the reg plates on the bag and follow it up with a fine.

People like the taste. Not that baffling really.
It kind of is. I mean, we all know it's the salts and fats that make us like the taste. We also all know it's really bad for you but it's also convenient. Queueing for it makes no sense whatsoever, you're losing the single benefit of it.

Yes, that does sound daft. I tried them over there too and it's the same rubbish we get here. See also McD, Whataburger, JackInaBox, Sonic, Wendy's, Five Guys etc...the list of crap sellers is enormous. Tried them all to see if you could get a decent burger in any of the burger chains. Not one decent.

Seems like they're almost all down south. Can't see them being anything like they were in the 1980's!
I don't think they are all down south, Beard meets food did one not so long ago on the youtube. He's from Leeds

edit: It was in the midlands

That being said my closest is in Twickenham, only a couple of miles away
