Mbappe to leave PSG

I’m not sure where he goes though?

Superb player but there’s a real narrow window to join these mega-clubs - depending on your age, contract length, availability, and most importantly who else they’ve got - and the chance often doesn’t come up twice. There’s always a younger model.

City for instance won’t be buying another number 9 until Haaland moves to Real in 2-3 years, then the musical chairs starts again. This Mbappe thing is clearly Real going, come now or we buy Kane. In a year, Kane is about to turn 31. You could still see him ending up somewhere like United or Chelsea, but I think he could have done better.

I think Levy’s intransigence and Kane not wanting to push it through might have taken away his chance to play at the absolute highest level, and it makes me think I’m not sure why anyone would ever sign for Spurs. He should have left during the transfer saga two years ago when City, United and potentially Real and Bayern were in for him.

He tried to leave.

Spurs refused to sell.
Man City offered £100m.

I think Bayern Munich would snap your hands off for him, as would Man United and plenty of other clubs, he'd be one of the best strikers in the world on a free.

I agree that Man City and Real Madrid probably wouldn't be as interested with their current players being linked.

At the same time, Mbappe isn't an out and out striker, there's no reason that they couldn't play together.

There is one reason - cost.

God knows how much Real will pay to get Mbappe, the full package that is. Tie in a hefty outlay for Bellingham this summer too. Real will have to be careful for the next year or so in terms of balancing the books.

Even on a free, Kane would still be a hell of a cost.

Yeah, I also thought Bayern as most likely, and United too - at the moment. But my point is these clubs don’t hang around. They might unearth a younger, cheaper Haaland with all the resale value Kane won’t have if they don’t get him this summer.

The City thing is very true. The thing is… there are ways to leave a club even if the chairman doesn’t want to sell. Most of them leave a sour taste in the mouth, but that’s your career.

For me Levy was hugely disrespectful and took advantage of Kane’s nature and desire to not been seen as a villain by Spurs fans - and still is, the United move is on this summer but paper talk now is that Levy won’t sell to a British club. Kane for his part has been a bit weak. It’s all very well being a Tottenham legend but I fear he’ll look at photos of Jack Grealish with a treble and regret it one day.

Mbappe has released a statement saying he hasn't asked to leave PSG, he just wont be extending his contract.

..... you have asked to leave sonny Jim, but I like the way you're playing it ;)

People on here whine about some of the contract's/clauses Boro negotiate but PSG have paid Mbappe 100 million as a signing fee on his last contact and it only got him for 2 more years :)

They wont even get 2 years - he has more or less forced them to sell this summer, despite his insistence he doesn't want to leave (plays nicely for the fans).

PSG have to recoup this summer or it has been an utter disaster

Although you're correct, I doubt Real Madrid sign him at a Left inside forward, as they already have a world class left inside forward in Vini Jr. There's no way he'll replace Vini Jr, so you'd think if Real bought him, then it would be as their #9

I can see this happening too.

Isn't one of the many times Mbappe has kicked up a fuss at PSG been because he doesn't want to play through the middle and wants to play off the left?

PSG should probably just cash in on him at this point honestly, guy just seems more hassle than he's worth, and they seem to be giving him more and more control over what goes on at the club with each attempt to keep him.

He just spat his dummy out when he wasn't getting the limelight due to Messi or Neymar getting the plaudits. He's world-class though and will be incredible at Real.

this is the one isn't it.. you can see it in Alan Shearer's eyes when he talks about the trophies Man Utd won.. if your the top.. you gotta be at the top. Newcastle and Spurs are not and will not be the top unfortunately. Real Madrid are there
Aye. Even Gerrard, who had a sensational club career, European cups and all… You can see there’s a tiny part of him that regrets not joining Mourinho at Chelsea and winning everything for a few years.

I was trying to think how many of the very best English players of the last 30 years who never won a trophy, or didn’t win anywhere near what they should have. Shearer’s a great shout. The rest - Robson, Gazza, Adams, Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney, Cole, Rio, Terry, Beckham, Owen, Scholes, Raheem - all have pretty bulging trophy cabinets.

Mbappe will leave at a time of his own choosing. He can sit on his ar$e for a year on a huge salary and then leave for free. He holds all the cards.

If they lose him, Neymar and Messi in one summer they can probably kiss goodbye to ever winning the CL.

Steve Bull, Matt Le Tissier, Alan Shearer and Harry Kane..

I got told Matt Le Tiss was a big pish head and wouldn't have gotten away with it at Utd.. very much a big fish in a little pond sort of deal. Harry Kane has waited and perhaps missed the boat.. he's been promised something and it hasn't quite worked out. Real Madrid? PSG? Man Utd? Newcastle? hmm Newcastle might be tempting.. in an ah well sort of way.

interesting to see who they would opt for to replace..

Bukayo Saka
Victor Osimhen
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

they would do
To win the CL? Well they’d be succeeding where better players have failed.

If Saka leaves Arsenal though I don’t think it’s for PSG.
